Ruiz fought Tua and did not last 30 seconds. Wilder isn't very defensive, Tua would catch him.

Wilder would jab Tua's face all night long.

His long punches would land first and Wilder is far better at slipping shots than Ruiz was, Wilder would have blasted Ruiz out in one round too.

Journey won rounds vs Wilder and lasted a long time. I think not.

Lewis Mercer was an excellent fight and very close.

It was a tough fight as when Mercer was on form he could give anyone a hard time, no shame in that.

The ring was also pretty small, which didn't help Lewis's tactics.

Mercer from the Holmes fight would have beaten Lennox on that night.

Mercer had a solid chin and it nullified the Lewis power and Mercer (who could be outboxed) had pretty good power as well .

I remember a guy Jerry Quarry -very good chin and power- Jerry did not like speed but dominated the Big punching guys like Lyle-Mac Foster- Shavers- Spencer-

The small ring definitely played it's part too, Lennox couldn't step back enough to get set.

Here is a question for the group. Why did Mercer have so much trouble with Lewis? He couldn't even knock the china chinned Brit down! Ray kept getting tagged square with powershots, even combinations found a home on his dome.

He feet were really slow, he could step back but just wasn`t quick enough.

Mercer was pretty bad defensively and Lewis had quick hands and what`s with all the Brit bashing on this forum?

    It's about establishing distance.
