21 December at the Copperbox for the WBC Silver title. Think we had all guessed he would be fighting the Japanese bloke.
Opposition is absolutely awful but it's for the belt Whyte held for a while, so a nice step on the ladder.
Will boost his WBO ranking, and WBC ranking and might get him into the WBA. Not an exciting oppenent but good from that point of view.
Disappointing considering Frank said he was in talks with Charles Martin and Hearn offered Bakole to be Dubois next opponent if he wanted. Still, at Dubois age there is no need to rush his progress.
Yes its just unfair that Warren's stable is so small and bad that he's now having to headline every card he is on when if he was with Sky he'd be probably only headline a NextGen card at this stage with a few fights on ppv cards so he's going to get some stick when its not his fault at all.
From the couple of mins I watched of him, yeah. Hands down, punching sloppily. The guy he beat last 2 times has as many defeats as wins. As others mention though, it gets ticks in the right places.
Dubois v (African nobodies) Lartey has done over 2 million views on YouTube. Tetteh not far off a 1 million. The Gorman fight has done over 1 million. Dubois would also be treated as a major star under Hearn and noway would he be on NXTGENs. As for the opponent, I don’t know this Fujitimo dude, so I have to do my homework, but I was hoping for slightly better.
With that kind of traction Hearn would certainly have promoted him better. would have spent a few quid on better name opponents aswell. If this was Hearn he would be hounded. Fought two African nobodies and now fighting a 6ft heavyweight that lost to Haumono before Kevin Johnson sparked him and went life and death with a super welterweight. Could easily have had three fights against Price, Allen and Wallin. All of which he wins and then actually has a profile and buzz. instead Warrens had him in with Lartey Tetteh and Fujimoto
Wasn't Joshua still on undercard of kell brook type ppv's after the same amount of fights? Yeah he does good numbers but he's not ready to be 'the face' of the promotion yet but it seems only him and Warrington have any name whatsoever that Frank controls now
Disappointing opponent. I’ve said before Dubois needs a proper star in the Warren stable so he can fight on the undercard, use the funds for decent opponents and get known. I fear this pink haired Japanese fella the hardcore haven’t even heard of will be down in 2/3 rounds again to the detriment of Dubois who needs rounds. 21st December too, I can’t see selling the copperbox well. I thought Yarde was a star now? Surely having him in a meaningful fight headlining and Dubois chief support would be the right way to go?
