Don't know itf its true but he said this "I came to Japan to take the Muhammad Ali trophy. I promised my sons they would see it in the morning. And with tears in my eyes, I humbly asked Inoue to borrow it for a night, not for me but for my word. It'll be a life lesson my boys will soon learn."
Came in to post this exact thing. It really affected me to read this THEN I come in here and see Nonitos son crying begging him to not box anymore WITH the damn Ali trophy in the background.....smdh rough stuff indeed.
Surprised the hell outta me! I was worried for Nonito’s health just a few days ago but damn did he prove me wrong! Absolute RESPECT for both fighters for giving us the FOTY (or decade!)!
The dude is amazing. I hope he can squeeze out a nice payday or two from this before he retires. LEGEND
Inoue was a great sport for letting Donaire and his family borrow the trophy. This sport is brutal for everyone involved...(including the kids)
Hopefully he's already financially secure enough not to need to fight again and if so that was a great fight to go out on.
Don't think I've give inoue enough love in here either... What a guy. This fight was everything great about boxing
I always admire Donaire. He consistently always wants to test himself and fight the best. Never afraid of losing and always give his best. True warrior. His fight with Inoue, another warrior, is a dream come true for every boxing fans. Yes, he is a legend.
Nonito is a frikin' badass and has a great personality to boot! If he hangs 'm up he had a great Hall of Fame career.
