Duran' masterful performance against Barkley

I can still remember the build up to the fight. I had visions of Duran being badly hurt!
But yes, a great win for Duran, Barkley may not have been a ATG but he'd just whacked Hearns and Roberto was no spring chick. Enjoyable fight!

 

This is possibly my favourite ever fight .I was so happy at the result brought tears to my eyes

 

It was a great fight. I loved it. Duran showed he was still a great fighter in 1989.

 

Gil Clancy's call of this fight was brilliant, he said around the 9th I think , that he sensed Duran could really hurt Barkley if he landed a big shot, that Roberto could take a better punch than Barkley, then in the 11th it happened! This is one of my favorite fights to watch, when you see the size difference between them it's astonishing.

 

I never appreciated how good a chin Duran had until I saw take that left hook.

 

Styles make fights Norton and Frazier gave Ali pure hell through 6 total fights, and both are summarily executed by Foreman. Ali embarrasses Foreman to a point he fights 5 different fighters in one night to regain his confidence. Than he disappeared for 10yrs. After a half hearted loss to Young.. Hearns destroys Duran, losses to Barkley twice. Duran beats Barkley .
