Sour is turd! He looks nothing like that fight poster, he looks more like some old dad looking pe teacher really ! Look up the fight he had with Franklin. The most exciting part of that fight happens in the last round where Franklin’s glove tape comes loose and the guy in the corner hasn’t got a clue what he’s doing, couldn’t give a crap, has his headphones in listening to music and can’t find where the tape starts on the roll if it goes 12 then time to hang them up fury
I want to say this first I've got nothing against hughie fury the person, he seems like a decent guy. But boxing isn't the sport for him, he has some natural talent yes, but i dont think he actually enjoys it. Watching him box is watching someone who doesn't like his job, work. He's not enjoying it, I'm not enjoying watching it, why is it happening.
I think some people are trolling us by claiming Hughie beat Parker. I scored it and recall giving it to Parker fairly wide by 117-111. Two of the judges had it 118-110 to Parker. It wasnt at a close fight or difficult to score. You had one man running away doing nothing other than flicking out a jab that wasnt delivered with any intent and was missing. Parker was doing all of the attacking and landing almost all of the scoring shots. Alot of people have trouble accepting that Hughie just isnt good enough to ever be a world top 15 boxer. Regardless of age
Beat me to it having read after... Duck is available. Sweet and sour. A step up would be to change a lightbulb at this point
Yeah couldn't give Hughie the nod myself. He made Parker miss a lot but to win rounds you've also gotta land some work of your own and Hughie barely did that. His jab in this and the Povetkin fight doesn't even get blocked, it gets swatted away like a fly it's that non-existant and he has an awfully telegraphed right hand which will never trouble anyone at that level. I had it 116-112 Parker on first watch, couldn't bring myself to watch it again.
Probably making more money boxing than he would doing anything else he is capable of doing. The lad is only 25 years old, he still has time to come good. I really like Peter Fury, and can't question his value as a trainer considering his accomplishments with Tyson, but I can't help but think Hughie might be better off training with someone else.
People keep banging the drum about Hughie being young. But he’s not that young in a boxing sense. Been a pro for ages and has always, always, always had a stinking style which just shows absolutely no sign of changing. He’s a nice guy as you say and boxing is probably the best job he could get, but I can’t see how he changes.
If there was a world tig championship Hughie would be ATG. But in boxing you actually have to punch the opposition - something Shades of Ali can't seem to do.
One thing I will say is that at least he's fighting regularly now, 4 fights in 6 months, I know the opposition has been questionable at times but at least he's actually fighting now.
