Who's Rule? There are not that many examples of professional boxers moving to MMA. James Toney got submitted in his 1st and only fight against Randy Couture and Ray Mercer knocked out Tim Sylva in the first round of his only fight. Holy Holm successfully moved from Boxing to MMA and won a world UFC title. Butterbean has fought in regional championships with mixed success. Marcus Davis was a successful boxer before moving to MMA to have a pretty decent career. Ricardo Mayorga had an amusing 4 fight cameo in MMA. Fabio Maldonado has had success in both the ring and the octagon, although not a world beater at either discipline he reached a very reasonable level (losses to Rivas, Hunter and Tslenko). So overall in the few examples we do have boxers actually have been pretty successful when moving to MMA.

I don't watch WWE chief apart from a few clips of Fury recently. MMA however is a good sport and I'm a casual fan of it. What exactly is funny? Please, enlighten us...

I don't mind Fury training a bit of MMA. After all, it keeps him fit and sharp. However, if he's to crossover for a competetive fight, it needs to be when he's finished with boxing. His boxing style is conservative and a full MMA camp/fight would hinder his defensive boxing skills IMO.

The irony of you questioning whether or not I'm over the age of 16, when you're so blatantly immature.

Yep. Huge wrestling fan me. Brock Lesnar posters on me bedroom wall in me ma's box room. Buy all the PPV's. Dressed up as Stone Cold Steve Austin for Halloween and there's not a man alive will convince me it's fake. Hope Fury crosses over full time!

When Joe Frazier got done with him he'd look like a guy wearing shorts who laid down a motorcycle at 70 mph. Bruised , skinned and punished.

He's gone from overrated to hugely overrated.

The funny thing is he's done nothing of worth for the past year and yet his legend continues to grow.

His entire resume is dining out on that Klitschko win which he ducked the rematch and I'm still not convinced that wasn't just an off night for Klitschko who was dealing with a suicidal wife and probably overlooked Fury on the night.

Other than that he has a draw with Wilder who is a technically atrocious fighter who in pretty much all other eras would have been Michael Granted long ago.

There's no Pulev, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz jr, Joshua, anyone like that on his CV and you will never see him fight a Dubois, Hrgovic, any of them either.

So we have a resume with more question marks than the riddlers catsuit, one admittedly good win over Klitschko which he ducked a mandatory rematch and a draw with Wilder where he was almost killed.

Why do people worship this guy I just don't get it.

Saunders underperformed last night mate so Hayers has a busy day ahead. Fury is safe enough for about 24 hours I reckon.

I like the idea that your definition of popularity in boxing isn’t people actually paying to see you fight, but going on Russell Howard.

As has been said time and again, Fury’s well known. But this never translates to people wanting to watch him box.
