Oh no, top 10 and he'd get stopped. He shouldn't have faded that quick imo, hes got one foot in retirement that's why his performances are bad, he could've done better v Canelo but he was happy just to be there. Great fighter prime, Cleverley period he was as good as any of them of the past, he was that level imo
Beterbiev would seriously wreck him, he is far too gone for that type of fight now. Anything he had left, Canelo knocked it out of him.
Kovs right hand has gone, he has no business getting in with Beterbiev, and no true fan or especially a Kov fan would want that
He can be on the undercard against some other fringe contenders. He is still a name and people will tune in to watch him. Anyone Top 20 or so is OK for him unless he is COMPLETELY shot. I hope he got a signing bonus from DAZN too.
Kovalev just was knocked out by a guy who is a head shorter than him. Why does he need to fight Beterbiev? This is getting out of hand, someone in Kovalev's team needs to talk some sense into him. He's done at top level.
Interesting, Beterbiev is no spring chicken and coming off a hard fight, but Kovalev being old, almost getting knocked out and having a six week camp had no impact on the canelo fight.
obviously that was taken into account, and factored into the final assessment. its not like im some knucklehead whos always throwing stupid predictions up in the air. youre going to have to do some real digging to find one ive been wrong about. use some judgement when considering my perspective.
Here is what you said in another thread: You were arguing the Canelo Kovalev was the same as the Yarde Kovalev. Well.
it wasn't overly hard for Beterbiev imo, but it be a knife through butter with him an Kov. That ships sailed im afraid
I know, my point was that Kovalev was not even the same as in the Yarde fight. Beterbiev wasn't nearly as beat up as Kovalev was against Yarde. Right now it would be quite dangerous for Kova to go up against Beterbiev, I wouldn't want to see that.
isnt that consistent with me saying a couple of posts back, that him being unprepared or "diminished", is bull? well?
Yes, and in this thread you were saying Beterbiev was coming off a hard fight and is getting older, in other words not as good as before Gvozdyk.
yes, and i considered the same thing for kovalev. kovalev tasted the speed and the power behind that speed and he played it safe. took a few hard shots, but not lhw hard, then canelo just caught him with a picture perfect left hook, with full leverage, right behind the guard. it must have cut off blood supply in the main artery under his jaw, cause it took his senses, making him a sitting duck. he didnt really take as many blows to the head, or body, as i saw beterbieve take from a legit lhw.
Yarde hit Kovalev with more shots than he has ever been hit with. Yarde is quite the power puncher, Kovalev took some massive bombs to the head. I agree the Canelo fight will not take as much out him, but who was actually arguing that?!
