"They [the UK] had their chance. They didn't treat me well...over here [the US] I get treated like a superstar" Is he right about this? This content is protected
On the uk they don't really take to drug cheats, also people who are "phobic" to every minority group for no real reason. They also like entertaining fights and somewhat well matched fights. For the above reasons no, the masses never really took to Fury over here, he can stay fighting Wallin and Schwartz level guys in the US as he would struggle to sell out the copper box vs those opponents in England. To my American friends, my apologies for palming him off to you. Let's call it even for that revolution business back in the day.
no one cares Fury. your last 2 fights were terrible. you didn't do anything to win over new fans, or impress the american public. bragging that you fight in vegas in 1/4 full arena's isn't something to boast about, either is fighting bums and ducking Wilder. You can run for so long, but you can't hide. He better not pull out for their rematch in February
He's doing a book signing next to where I'm working on Wednesday. Perhaps I'll ask him if he wouldn't want to be roared on at Wembley in an all British super fight against Joshua instead of a soulless Vegas casino wherein they're up for jobbing him if they can find a American fighter they like the look of.
Brits never took to him or his personality, definitely suits the American market more being like he is. He knows he doesn't sell well here and he's lapping up the attention in the US. He's never had any attention like that in the UK. It was a Big part of his 'breakdown' not being treated how he wanted to or expected to be treated as HW champ. Nobody cared, and then he said silly things and that was that, nobody took to him here, is the bottom line.
I think the videos of him charging round the euros with fans singing his name everywhere sort of puts a bit of a dampener on his everyone always hated me in the UK narrative. He was nominated for SPOTY and invited to do a stint on the BBC for Comic Relief. Hardly the hallmarks of a hated man. He has undoubtedly been poorly promoted - Fat Mick couldn't even sell Froch fights ffs - and also made a few poor decisions himself but he can't pretend he wasn't basking in the adulation of the British public post the Willder fight.
Just gonna put it out there. Tyson Fury isn't a draw in the USA. His last fight sold about 3000 tickets.
Our blow hard, fake news media has a habit of overhyping UK fighters rather than supporting our own home town boys. Fury is reaping every benefit while the People's Champion, Deontay Wilder stays lurking in the shadows, growing angrier and waiting for a chance to catch Fury in public
Fury is right here and good luck to him snubbing the UK stadiums. If you know anything about his pre-Klitschko days with Hennessey, you'll know Fury was turned away by big networks/sponsors etc. He was not backed the way you would expect such an obvious talent to be backed. Mick went into detail about it on an IFL interview. So the idea the lack of support was because of drug bans or saying realistic things about feminism and media control is simply not true. And since the drug situation was not even public at the time of the media onslaught, this had zero to do with it. He was obviously witchhunted for his outspoken non-liberal comments, but anyone who defends one of the most degenerate establishments on the planet, the UK thought crime dystopia, is morally corrupt and shouldn't be pointing fingers. Finally, to highlight the ridiculous hypocrisy of people claiming Fury deserved the media attacks due to his behaviour, this is the same society/mass media that welcomes convicted ****** and ear mutilator (and druggie, and likely roid user who admittedly cheated his urine tests) Mike Tyson, the man Fury was named after, as a role model and guru. Go figure. See if you can work the puzzle out.
