Lol someone got to keep this posse in check. They’re as bad as Adelaide Byrd for thinking like this and would quite happily re write history about a fight where Canelo himself said I couldn’t lay a glove on him lol.
What I like about Floyds win is how he took to Canelo.Floyds punches seemed to have way more on them than the Mexican.
Canelo is a great fighter but some of his fans are annoying, which makes it all the more satisfying that every victory of his furthers Floyd's legacy that much more. BTW why do I get the feeling that the "too green" proponents aren't willing to say "too brown" when it comes to Canelo's victories over Kovalev and Golovkin (if you can call the latter a victory).
He was so dejected he said he couldn’t lay a glove on him.Only credit you give Canelo is that he didn’t quit but that fight is as close to a one sided victory you could ever see bar a knockout.
Yep this.Had Canelo tried to bully Floyd he could of had some success but ended up like Ricky Hatton.
I think it’s overstated. Of course Canelo is better now than back then, he’s probably in his prime right now physically and skills wise, you can’t say he went downhill from that fight. So this version is bigger, stronger and more skilled. That said, it’s hard to fight anyone at the perfect time. Even SRL didn’t beat Duran at his absolute prime which would have been at LW. It wasn’t as bad as RJJ-Bhop for example. I think floyd beats him anytime at that weight, Canelo is a counterpuncher and just like JMM was a great counterpuncher, that’s a silly game to play with floyd when you are slower and have the shorter reach.
It's possible. Correcting being an inch from landing a punch and missing every time to landing a few is possible. Once you start landing some with power, it changes everything. Sometimes all it takes is one move, something you find that works against a particular opponent. I've seen fighters get schooled then do much better in rematches. Mostly on YouTube because it happened much more often in the past because if you get schooled now you never get a rematch. But I do think Floyd is just better period.
Yarde against Kovalev was like that.for seven rounds you couldn’t see how Yarde could trouble Kovalev and then a few body shots later it looked a different fight. Often the case in world level sport that it often comes down to small margins.
All fine sentiments except he lost and drew with GGG in many eyes. Still definetly the fighter of the decade as his sales and popularity surpass GGG
