Biggest test of his career. I think his best opponent thus far was a clearly past it Miniburgos. Not very reliable newssource though Brought to you by Total BS!
Great test. I’m going with Haney. He’s young and I think he will step it up if this fight takes place. Close, UD or SD most likely.
A good step up for Devin Haney. Javier Fortuna still is not that good at all, if Jason Sosa can KO him in the manner that he did, I am sure he won't be much of a difficult challenge for Haney.
I'd be utterly shocked if Fortuna took this fight. He saw what happens when he fights someone he can't physically deal with when he fought Granados. He had to pull off a fake injury to get out of the fight. Haney is massive at this weight. He tears Fortuna into pieces. Haney should fight someone like Campbell or Lopez/Commey winner. Selby could be a decent opponent for Fortuna.
No complaints here. Good fight, show us where Haney is really at and it’s a massive step up from his competition so far.
Easter's height is huge, he's not a big guy who bullies/pressures his opponents around, but rather outboxes them. Fortune can deal with such opponents, that's why I suggested Selby would be a proper opponent for him. Selby is also bigger but he's a boxer like Easter. Haney, however, will bully Fortuna and overpower him, knock him out possibly before midway.
Me too. I thought Fortuna clearly won the fight. Not the worst decision I’ve seen but definitely a bad one IMO. This is a good test for Haney but I think he wins it. Maybe it KO but on the cards. I think this is a bad matchup for Fortuna because of Haneys size. Campbell would have been a better, more competitive opponent but it’s hard to look good against a skilled southpaw. Haney needs to look good in this fight. Campbell is more skilled than Fortuna and would have probably been tougher.
