I don't know man, he's waiting for the Commey-Lopez winner right? Both of whom have done more than Haney has, and even more so once they've won that particular fight. If he was saying for instance "Nah I wanna fight Crolla" instead of Haney then I'm with you, and if he makes moves to avoid Haney after beating the Commey-Lopez winner then I'm with you, but right now nah, I don't see it.
Tell us how Devin "earned it", if you even can. Did he earn it by beating other top rated LW's? it's obious what your intent was here, based on your bringing up OTHER fighters who you somehow think helps your argument (They don't...different circumstances FFS..) Haney isn't even old enough to buy beer FFS. He hasn't even fought/beaten a top contender at LW. Chill the eff out let the kid learn and grow before throwing him in with the wolves. And go find another fighter to use to hate on Loma...
There's always the danger of becoming the new El Feroz if you rush yourself but good for him for looking to back up his talk.
I get the feeling in the next few years, we'll be seeing more fighters rushed into title fights they aren't quite ready for.
I wouldn't fault someone for being ambitious. It's far preferable to see these guys step up and let us know who's really who than take the Wilder route.
True. Could be worse, could be in the position of the Charlo bros, near 30 and STILL yet to face consistent top competition, and both have been pros for 10 years already!?! What's the rush guys?! lol But there should be a nice median in there. If a boxer is pro by age 20, by 25 they 'should' be looking at titles, (If developed properly). I like the ambition as well, but I would hate to see Haney beaten so badly it stunts his growth as a fighter. WAAY too soon IMO.
