He's deliberately digging to the body against a guy leaning forward trying to clinch. That is the result. I've been hit low and I've hit people low it is almost exclusively in that situation that is on video right before your eyes. It's like people saying Tim Bradley headbutted. Of course. He would march forward throwing shots and people would stand their ground because he didn't have the kind of power to back them up, same as Ward actually. Heads will clash.

It was OBJECTIVELY low. The test of how people see this punch is based on their bias towards the individual fighter or how they felt the fight was already lost for Kovalev regardless. But to the layperson, it is clearly a shot below the belt - and to experienced boxing fans as most of you are, I can’t see how anyone could convince themselves otherwise?!
How are some people still arse sore that Ward broke Kovalev and made him turn as if to give up his arse. Yeah that punch looked like it hit the letters, but Kovalev's insides had already been pulverized by Ward's body attack. Not only did Ward make him submit, but I'd bet there was a bit of crap in his trunks as well. You arse sore dill holes have to eat that **** hot, still. Kovalev never trained to properly roll his nuts with the punches. Also he could have used the dick roll defence. Basically, he wasn't slick enough in the end.
Using sack roll is legit against single nutshots, but its still hurts when somebody throwing combinations on your balls. Kovalev should have used ancient kung fu technique - pulling your nuts to abdomen.

The last punch was definetly low, but Kovalev was already bent down defenseless at that point, so It could’ve been vawed of even before the final punch landed.
