Calzaghe has grown on me over the years, but to pick him at LHW, over someone like Spinks (or a lot of others), to me would take a great leap of faith. I would expect Spinks to stop him or take a wide decision. I don’t se Joe being competitive here.

I don't see Calzaghe making to the final bell in this one. Spinks is just too good and hits too hard for Joe.

I remember Charles Brewer hurting Calzaghe with a left uppercut, and remember what Spinks did to Marvin Johnson with that punch...

I agree, Joe doesn't see the final bell.

Spinks was a truly devastating puncher at 175.

Calzaghe was closer to a middleweight than a light heavyweight, Spinks chases him like a rabbit before ko'ing him badly

No, Calzaghe was closer to a light heavyweight cause that's what he would have to be before super middle was established.

He was way too big to ever fight at 160.

He do a heckuva lot better draining to make middleweight, than campaigning at lightheavy.

At home Joe by worst stoppage of the decade. Anywhere else, he meets a technical boxer that doesn't fall for slappy-calzaghe shots. Spinks UD anywhere but Joe's backyard.

I'm still trippin on how they stopped a few of his fights to this day.

He really wasn't. Read his book. He lived off of yogurt so he could make 168.

Calzaghe gets stopped, probably around 7.

Spinks started slow usually, so I think Joe's pressure would take the early rounds, unless there's an early KD, similar to the Marvin Johnson fight. Spinks starts to get into it 4/5 and his massive arsenal starts rendering Calzaghe's slaps useless. Spinks piles on the punches and stops him after a few one sided rounds.

Calzaghe's one of the most ridiculously over-rated fighters in this country. Spinks demolishes him mid rounds.

They could fight anywhere in the UK and Joe gets KO'd.
