Boxers usually are the ones who have to deal with corrupt aspect of the sport. What are the corrupt traits most Boxers are surprised to find out about the sport once they turn pro.
Rigged scales is one form of corruption I strong suspect to be taking place that I have only ever heard once before mentioned. The B side boxer will stand on the scale and have to make the weight legitimately. When the A side steps on the scales, a manual or electronic/wireless switch will off-set the scale by a few pounds (I would imagine by around 4 to 10 pounds) allowing the A side an unfair advantage. This can be done at the weight in 24 hours before the fight or on the day of the fight (re-hydration clause). The A side and his team will know how much they can be over by and prepare accordingly. I think this type of corruption is rampant with Golden Boy Promotions and with Matchroom/Sky. In numerous weigh ins I have seen it just looked odd and suspicious to me. Canelo is a prime example.
Fighting in Las Vegas against a cash cow. There are a lot of dirty money in Vegas. If the cash cow stays undefeated / be the victor, it's hugely beneficial for Vegas as it attracts more people to the venues. It makes the events bigger and it brings all the whales in. There are also a lot of bets from unsavory characters, and some of these characters will try to influence the judging. The casinos themselves also do their part in one way or another. Sometimes when you see opening odds, you just don't believe it. It doesn't make sense, but it does make sense when you factor everything into it.
One of the Golovkin weigh ins was very odd with GGG being weighed and taking time and with Canelo you can see one of his team telling em to finish it.Might just be over a few ounces but they always come across as shifty. Lol just remembered straight after this is when they stick pills in Canelos mouth lol.
I think most boxers are surprised at some point in their career they deteriorate towards a rather sad journeyman retirement tour, getting paid to get beaten up by younger prospects. I bet most hope its just a glitch and "just one big win" will put their career back on track.
