Bobby Czyz vs Jeff Harding

2 good fighters but I think czyz is just a bit better and wins on points.

 

I'm going with Harding by a close UD in a competitive scrap. The body work of Jeff sees him outlast Czyz down the stretch.

 

Andres beat both and lost to Harding .I think Czyz could win on points if he doesn't get into a brawl.But he probably will !.Czyz isn't the sharpest tool in the shed ! He looks like Gareth from Hale and pace!

 

I'm sure you knew Bobby was a member of MENSA lol but he does make some rather poor life choices given his high IQ. Slicker Bobby Czyz on points or a later round stoppage. Bobby won titles at light-heavyweight and cruiserweight and was much more accomplished overall.

Which is interesting because Czyz lost to Andries.. Rather easily I remember.

Styles make fights. I think Harding's aggressiveness would play into Bobby's strengths. Yes, I remember Dennis Andries going to Kronk Gym after the loss to Hearns and Manny Steward sharpened his skills and helped improved his balance. In the Andries-Czyz fight, Bobby was ahead on 2 of 3 scorecards after 6 rounds but faded a bit in the last 4 and Andries gained a majority decision. Bobby, despite his high IQ, tended to sometimes have brain farts in crucial fights, but he was overall the better technician and much more accomplished fighter than Harding and I think he would outbox and outmaneuver the brawler Harding. People tend to forget that Bobby moved up to cruiserweight and easily outboxed the much bigger and stronger Robert Daniels to gain the WBA title late in his career, successfully defending twice before unwisely retiring and coming back at heavyweight. He also hung a first loss on touted '88 gold medallist Andrew Maynard at a time he was thought to be on the downside. Yeah, I have a soft spot for old Bobby lol.

 

That is good. He was a good fighter. He always wanted to fight Hearns for reasons probably which were that Hearns was a big name and that point a little on the downside, so he wanted the name on his record. It would have helped his legacy win or loss. A lot of guys wanted to fight Hearns. I remember one card in January of 1992 with Barkley and Van Horn other fights everyone wanted Hearns.

 

Just as long as we all remember that he was a MENSA member.
