Difference is Conor was 29 and a pro MMA fighter. Hall is 42 and hasn't been a pro athlete for more than 5 years. I reckon both Hall and Gallen are juicing.
There have been successful crossovers to boxing from similar combat sports. MT, Kickboxing and even MMA. Rugby and Football players making the switch isn't the same and shouldn't be taken seriously. Only a handful of guys have ever amounted to anything even regionally. Mundine aside... Haumono was alright for the scene but considering the fact he grew up around boxing as well its hardly the same as other rugby and football crossovers.
* WBA no 3 Jason Maloney who is having a keep busy fight tonight on Codes of War chances of winning a world title have gone up a whole new level of difficulty with the announcement Cuban Rigondeaux will fight Liborio Solis for vacant WBA Tiltle Dec 21. * Late switch Tej Singh will in fact defend Aust MW Title tonight against Mitchell Whitelaw. says the idiot who is going to watch it, lol. i see u have turned a blind eye to browne calling out paul gallen but u think its ok for browne to duck alex leapai. i shouldn't be surprised that i've made u look like a fool again.
Green to call out Gallon in 3 weeks time after talkin sh!t in media for 2 weeks OR doller Danny to call out winner vs SBW.... Have to be 2mill payday or more??? I dont mind Green, dont love or hate, I know he not popular round here but he does love a dollar.....
Hats off to Big Bad Barry on a very courageous performance. Watching him walk to the ring I was thinking that's not what 43 year olds should be doing. But he pulled it off. Well done to him. And to Paul Gallen for a solid 6 rounds.
Gallen applied the pressure & Triple B mostly absorbed it. Two judges scored it 3 apiece & the other scored it 4-2 Gallen. It was entertaining to watch & the crowd was really into it. Great atmosphere. Andrew Moloney just won the interim WBA Super Flyweight title when the referee stopped the contest on the advice of the doctor. Elton Dharry was world class but one of his eyes was closed for several rounds before they decided to stop it. Moloney was hurt badly during the contest but that's how it is at the pointy end of the sport. Apart from the round he was badly hurt, I thought he controlled things for the most part. The other guy was always in it though b/c he punched hard with the right hand & was able to land it effectively when he needed to.
Yeah division is stacked at the moment. Just off the top of my head there are close to 10 guys I'd favor over him. He'd be a worthy challenger to any though.
