You are in dire need of a crash course in learning how to score boxing matches. And maybe a visit to the optometrist too.:eyepop:

He's surely referring to Dave Moretti's scorecard of 118-110. At least in regard to Pacquiao only winning 2 rounds he's citing something with a factual basis. With Canelo ya'll just be living in la la land.

I feel like we've been down this road, but.. name one clear round for Canelo.

    Just one.

No he didn't, but he did win four rounds, maybe five.

    Three at a minimum.

Canelo won more rounds than Pac did vs Mayweather and was more impressive. Canelo landed way better more eye catching shots on Mayweather than Pac did.

    Again, No.

Canelo won no more than three rounds against Floyd.

    All very close.

You could make a bit of a case that he didn't win any.

    He didn't win any CLEARLY.

That's debatable, but of course he was fighting a much better version of Mayweather.

Looking at the punch stats, according to Compubox, vs Mayweather, Canelo landed 117 / 526 in total punches 22%, and Canelo landed 73 / 232 power punches 31%.

    Pacquiao only landed 81 / 429 in total punches 19% vs Mayweather and 63 / 236 power punches 27%.

So Canelo landed a lot more shots on Mayweather than Pacquiao did and he did it at a higher percentage, vs a better version of Floyd.

Now granted Floyd landed a lot more shots on Canelo than he landed on Pacquiao but he also threw a lot more. Floyd Canelo was a more exciting bout than Floyd Pac obviously, but the fact is Canelo landed more punches on Mayweather than Pacquiao did by longshot and they were better punches.

Ah, round 10. So you're in the habit of being swayed by a single big eye catching shot (particularly when scored by the person you're biased towards & inclined to reach for) in scoring rounds...

    As for 3-4...

Quiet rounds for Mayweather offensively but he kept them even quieter for Canelo, who did a whole lot of whiffing. You can only score these rounds for Canelo if you reward blind aggression irrespective of effectiveness or accuracy.

Not at all. Your summary for round 10 fails to mention the entire sequence that occurred with Floyd on the ropes getting peppered with shots. You mentioned the big right hand, but not the 3 punches before it, or the 8 punch combination after that.

That right hand was probably the best punch ever landed on Mayweather. So that is a reason to give him the round based on that alone, considering the schooling Canelo was doing when he was on the ropes earlier in the round picking off Floyd's shots. You even mention that Floyd "crabs" off the ropes. What happened there was Mayweather was getting schooled trying to land shots with Canelo on the ropes buy Canelo was making him look silly so he backed off. Then Floyd went back to the ropes himself only to get rocked with that big right hand followed by another brilliant 8 punch combination by Canelo of which the 7th punch in that combination was another hard right hand upstairs. Note how Canelo started that 8 punch combo with lighting jabs to the body and got Floyd worried about the body then rocked him again to the head. That's as good as it gets right there.

So it was two big right hands in a sequence of 12 straight punches by Canelo with Floyd on the ropes. A one-two that Floyd slipped, another one two the right hand rocked Floyd, then the 8 punch combination the 7th of which rocked Floyd again. Floyd immediately got off the ropes after those 12 unanswered punches.

To give Floyd a round after getting schooled like that, first trying to land punches with Canelo on the ropes and having them picked off then going back to the ropes himself and getting peppered with a series of 12 punches in a row including two big clean right hands, to ignore that and still give the round to Floyd would be crazy.

Floyd landed some decent shots in the round but nothing compared to that 12 punch sequence by Canelo.
