I’m an Eddie fan but this is utter tosh. Absolute ****ing criminal. I can afford £25 no problem, doesn’t mean I want too.

Worst thing is, I already know what he’s saying. ‘it’s the price of a pizza and a few tins, come on Kugan, half these people whinging at me about the pricing spend £25 on the slots in their transformers pjs’ before rhyming off some no context Hearn bull****.

‘And have you seen the undercard?’ It’s the best card of the year, biggest fight of all time, if you don’t want to pay £25 then don’t.

Can feel my blood boiling already. It’s absolute criminal. As if standard subscriptions wasn’t enough.

I’m off out anyway for my Christmas doo, so won’t affect me, it’ll affect others. I’m with Jurgen now, sod Sly Sports and sod the PPV mugs. It’ll be PED Whyte vs a Bangledeshian cow milker for £25 next.

    Come on Ruiz

Won’t be £25 either, be an extra £2 for it to be in HD. So that’s £27. Yeah **** you Eddie

Just so people know you can pay for DAZN on any credit or debit card

Also on a totally unrelated note VPN let's you change your IP address to one in America

Third unrelated note DAZN carries this fight and is a lot better value and great quality streams

Sorry for going totally off topic from the thread subject.

Maybe virgin do that but I've never been charged extra for a HD feed with sky.

Sky boxes now are HD standard. You can't even watch sky channels in SD as the SD channels are not avaliable.

I guess they’re thinking there will be more demand because of the timing in the UK. Hence equilibrium price increases.

Agree with the posters who say it’s not the fact they can’t afford it, it’s the principle. The country is still in recession, there’s food banks everywhere, homelessness is rising and big corporations like Sky think it’s acceptable to charge you for boxing even though you already for a sports service and then they think it’s ok to increase it.

@Dragon Punch is spot on. I think this is Sky cashing in incase AJ loses.

PS. How the **** do Americans get away with charging $100!! Scandalous.

To be fair this has always happened. Your Hatton v Mayweather PPV should have been cheaper than it was if we base the cost of that against the cost of the first UK PPV (Tyson Bruno II) and inflation rates between 1996 and 2007. And based on the cost of Hatton v Mayweather then Mayweather v Pacquiao should have been cheaper than it was too.

Secondly, we tend to look at PPV’s as a single entity rather than assess them as individual products. People will pay a lot more to watch Man City v Liverpool than Watford v Norwich. By the same token, is it really that much of a surprise that this is twenty five quid if Fury Wallin is twenty?

That’s a slightly disingenuous comparison to be fair.

You could compare sport across the board. The average ticket price to watch Man Utd at Old Trafford in the inaugural Premier League season was £14. In 2019 that equates to £28.70 accounting for inflation. Actual average price today? £38.

It’s not. Because the football prices are scandalous too. I think you will find the price is a lot more than £38! But this is a boxing forum so I was talking about the boxing. The football ticket prices are scandalous but there a different argument and you don’t get certain matches on box office, yet.

I meant it was disingenuous to compare food banks and homelessness with PPV boxing.

As ever with PPV boxing, (as is the case with football tickets and every other sporting event) is it a case of those in charge ripping off fans or selling the product for the value they can extract the most money from. There is a difference here. Average ticket prices at Premier League grounds are miles beyond where we’d expect them to be based on inflation, but they’re still usually full.

And if you want to talk boxing, take my previous point. If Fury Wallin is twenty quid why is there any surprise at all that this is more expensive?

I'll go to the pub and watch it. 4 or 5 pints and a takeaway on the way home. If I was watching it at home it would have been a takeaway and a crate of beer. Its a lot of money to pay for a ppv. I used to get sucked in every time. I have grown wise to it now though. I just pick the ones I think will be worth it.
