Gallen is garbage but he's done well to make good money fighting ex footballers with basically no experience, let's hope we don't get a rematch

While I thought Andrew Moloney thoroughly deserved his win & will move onto bigger & better things, he probably could have been a bit more cautious on the night which would have reduced the chances of the other guy hurting him in the way that he did.

He was fighting in front of a big local crowd that had been worked up by the previous fight & he was no doubt keen to make a big impression. There's not much point pretending you're invincible if in fact you're not though.

He didn't give Elton Dharry enough respect during that fight & that's why he got hurt. Dharry hadn't lost in a decade, was very big for the weight & whacked good with the right hand. While the name of the game is entertainment, Andrew needs to be a bit more careful in future contests.

I’ll try n tune in for the main event, decent domestic clash, I havn’t seen too much of Jai apart from few early fights n limited recent highlights, interesting main event..

I got home just in time to catch the main event between Jai Opetaia & Mark Flanagan.

It was a very impressive performance from Opetaia. His best of the year by far. He was fast, skilful & punched hard.

Mark Flanagan is far too courageous for his own good. He was dropped twice by hard, flush punches to his head. The corner finally stopped it after 8 rounds.

I really don't like seeing people take that much punishment. After what's happened in recent times, the sport needs to be better than that. Les Fear is the best referee in the country but I would like to see officials be a bit braver when it comes to stopping fights.

It was sickening watching the last round of that fight.

    * Agree with Sandman with conclusion of Opetia fight. The last thing we need is another
Davey Browne tragedy. However the enemy within Aust Boxing is our own NSW Combat
Sports Authority. A gov appointed panel seem so hell bent on driving the so called criminal
actitivty out of NSW boxing when in fact they are so incompetent and useless and they
themselves are the criminal . eg Browne vs Hopate how do Hoppa get his license on
four days notice when he has barely had one fight in nearly a decade ? And yes a past
by Browne but still a former world champion and still rocks in his fist.
    * Shame Liam Wilson didn't fight on Opetia undercard as his opponent failed his
    medical exam.
    * Promoters are considering extending a Gallen vs Hall rematch to 10 rds with 3 min
rds and the fight in Sydney.
    * Billy Dib Dec 21 undercard will have Daniel Lewis and Paul Fleming fighting.

Jai looked great last night, bam bam is as tough as they come but I would like to see him retire, lebedev, goularmian, light + opetai all these fights have taken something out of him & he has had a great career hopefully he has made abit of coin to set him up for future. Think next fight for Jai needs to be overseas get a top 5-10 ranked cruiser, he'll be confident & he didn't take much punishment so if he can stay active will be good.

I caught Jai from rd 5 on... Looked very very good boxing from outside... powerful jab n couldnt miss with the left....
Alot of holding every time bam ban got on inside, not sure if it was tactics or he prefers to box on outside, he did look very very nice last night however....

    * Today another sad day for Aust boxing with the passing away of former QLD and Aust
AM Champ Coomera Matt Casboult. Matt was aged 25 and fought unsucessfully for vacant
Aust SFW lb Title against Brent Rice in Nov 2016. RIP Champion.
    * Word from influential boxing figures is that SBW will not fight Gallen vs Hall victor.
    * Justin Hodges has put up his hand to fight Gallen. JH is close to the worst NRL player
i've seen fight. Unless he vastly improves and beats Darcy Lussick next mth he should
stop shaming NRL players. After Gallen and Hall got 600 k each and probably more if
they rematch in Syd who can blame him ?
    * The Hornet has said he has earned more than 6 m in prizemoney since Pacquiao fight
but claimed much of the money devoured by management and promoter fees, support
    team and taxes.

Agree about Hodges his 2-0 record is an absolute joke those opponents offered no resistance what so ever. At least Lussick is an athlete not some wino from the alley, I don't know if Lussick has any skills but if he does him winning wouldn't surprise me.

I very well doubt that Justin Hodges can improve his boxing to even semi decent level at
37 and half. He has being boxing for nearly over a decade with respected boxing trainer
Gareth Williams who was former Aust AM boxing coach. Lussick was taught boxing by
his father a bodyguard for the rich and famous but his only being training over a month
to prepare but expecting another Burgess vs Champion like fisaco.
None of the current NRL players impress me off hand but who i am sure would clean
them up is former Clive Churchill Medal Winner and now coaching David Furner. I
knew who somebody who weight trained with former Canberra great Jason Croker and
he told me JC could bench press 400 lbs and that DF was gym champion basically his
whole career. DF laid out quite a few blokes in his time including Shane Webcke in State
    of Origin.
Still being tough on the field meant nothing in real boxing and i remember Paul Harragon
on the defunct Footy Show being in what was suppose to be a exhibition match but PH
didn't follow the script against another AM fighter who was a school teacher and tried
to ko him and PH was nearly ko before the referee saved him the embarassment of
    being ko on live TV.
