People like fighters to be rushed in the ranks and concussed early in their careers instead of honoring their skills reaching their true potential, fighting lesser competition into their 30's to capitalize on the moment the perfect opportunity arrives.

Destroyed talents: great for the fans and the sport!

Perfect career paths: destroys the interest of boxing.

Peter Fury ruined his own son Hughie. A lot of people thought Peter was a great coach because he trained a pre-cooked and exceptional talent in Tyson. Then Fury hooked up with a rookie trainer and beat Wilder. Go figure.
Peter literally claimed that he hated Hughie's style after the Pulev defeat, as though it was Hughie's fault. In fact Peter had created this style, having total control over his son's boxing. Hughie has very good movement, defensive skills, endurance, chin, courage along with height and reach. With a proper trainer from early age he no doubt could have been a lot better by now. Hughie should have a falling out with his father and get a real trainer before it's too late.

Rob McCracken appears to be harming AJ's development by teaching him to box in a very robotic style and stifling his need to box in a more fluid style. He showed more fluidity in the latter part of the Povetkin fight but it doesn't seem he was taught this. According to Johnathan Banks, McCracken told AJ to engage Ruiz on the inside, which should result in an immediate firing if true.

100% James De Gale. Thought he was a supreme talent coming out of the amateurs and elite defensively.

He had excellent foot and upper body movement and was so hard to catch. Then he partnered with your typical face-first British brawler coach who completely ruined him. It’s on De Gale for not leaving after the Groves loss but in spite of his decent accomplishments, I consider his talent wasted.

    ROBERT ALCAZAR!!!!

I know slot of you are going to say otherwise! But this dude is the reason Oscar lost some major fights to Trinidad and Moseley!

In the Mosley fight he sent Oscar out just to overpower Moseley knowing damn well Moseley has always a bit bigger than Oscar going all the way back to the amateurs! He idiotically thought Oscar would run right through him! The game plan was horrible for that fight and the advice he was giving made me cringe!!

Mayweather senior later employed and game plan to beat Moseley and I honestly think Oscar beat Moseley in the second fight and made him look confused and clueless at times !!!

The Trinidad fight was just being scared and not believing in Oscar!! Oscar was winning but he kept telling him just stay away!!!

I honestly think that if mayweather senior would have been in the corner for Trinidad Oscar, Oscar pissibly stops Trinidad! In the exchanges trinidad was gun shy and only covered up! A simple tatic if Oscar teeing off then clinching would have won him the fight easy and took Trinidad soul! Then when Trinidad thinks the clinch is coming so he pulls away! BAAAMMM LEFT HOOK!!!

Get out of here blaming Alcazar. In the Trinidad fight DLH had GIl Clancy as his chief advisor in the corner.
During those times if it wasn't Clancy, DLH had others in his corner beside Alcazar.
It didn't matter who DLH had in his corner, he could never win a big fight against another highly toughted champion in his prime.

An Aussie welterweight was a world champ he got a gift against Pac but it is what it is.
He's tough has heart but limited ability in my opinion it's due to his trainer this bloke named Rushton he's a karate boy with no boxing experience himself. If had a real boxing trainer I feel he could have been a far more rounded fighter

I think Teddy Atlas really actively hindered and regressed Povetkin while he trained him. He lost 2-3 years in his development.

Not sure thats true about mcracken telling joshua to engage on the inside against ruiz. Wasnt the gameplan going in anyway. Was telling him to keep it long in the corner. Start popping off straight one-twos etc. If he did tell him to engage on the inside it would have been later in the fight. When joshua was getting picked off on the outside. Actually think rob should have told him to engage a bit earlier....when it became clear joshua wasnt recovering and was starting to take a beating on the outside. Sometimes you,ve just got to try and fight it out.

Agree mckrackens now beginning to harm him tho...with his robotic style of training. Its almost too regimented to the point joshua doesnt quite know what to do without robs input. You,ve got to let them learn for themselves eventually.

One way of destroying talent before they even start is throwing them to the dogs in hard sparring very early in their training before they are ready. Taking excess brain damage during training is a good way to ruin a potential career before it even starts.

Imagine if Mayweather was thrown into hard sparring as a punching bag against experienced light heavy fighters his first day training.

First name that came to mind, one of the most talented British fighters of the last 20 years but had a small hall level coach who had no understanding of his fighters ability.

Literally can't think of a worse choice of trainer for a particular fighter.
