That was fantastic, had heard about this fight but first time i've watched it. In amongst all the mayhem and crudeness Pep produced some sublime stuff.
Pep broke every rule in the book to no avail and then quit before he really caught more hell. Sadler is an ATG who has long suffered for beating up a favorite son so many times. Sadler > Pep.
Not from what I see watching this fight (or what I’ve seen of their previous ones). But he accepted Pep’s roughhousing terms of combat without complaint and beat Willie at his own game.
I know this wasn't Willie Pep's finest fight but damn he was something to watch even here. Saddler was like an Octopus with wrecking balls in his gloves. Pep was so smooth. Amazing quickness, and footwork. I like how he shifts and punches off either foot. He was peppering Sandy Saddler but he couldn't back him up. I think if a guy fought like Pep today they would make $75 billion a fight.
