What’s next for GGG? Is he finished?

He has disappeared again, no news, no training videos, didn’t even call out Canelo.

He won twice against Canelo but Canelo is winning the battle because he went after Jacobs and Kovalev while GGG is chasing Szeremeta....

Once upon a time he was a beast, but I think at the age of 38 he finished. Too old for a fighter.

He just won an IBF belt and is still chasing Canelo. I think its still early to say he's "finished" lol because one guy was low blowing and headbutting Golovkin without getting any warnings from the ref. He's probably going to fight his IBF mandatory next and then fight Canelo in May. Then we can make a fairer assessment on whether he is "finished" lol.

there's really nobody for him left to fight, except for Canelo... thats from a commercial standpoint... maybe Charlo or Andrade... but thats it

He’s done, got beat up his last fight and can’t compete in the world level anymore.

I doubt he will retire as he will want to see out his DAZN contract so he can get paid.

If it's quiet, might mean negotiations are happening or about to. Might be waiting to see the result of Smith v Ryder. Smith and Saunders have both claimed they want the fight. So perhaps he'll go for one of those two, which are very interesting fights.

The best part in all this is the fact GGG does not need to fight Clen boy again to cement his legacy. The whole boxing world knows GGG beat Canelo TWICE but got shafted by Vegas corruption. They know that Canelo:pipiGGG
Its Clenelo that needs another GGG fight hoping to actually legitimately beat him but still refused to give him a fair fight away from Vegas corruption. GGG needs to tell Oscar & his puppet Its MSG on the level or you can :asskisser

Golovkin didn't look too good against Derevyanchenko. I had him squeak by 7-6 with the KD the difference, but, honestly, if he'd lost that fight he couldn't have had too much to complain about. Part of it could be that SD was better than anybody thought, and possibly its true that GGG was ill before the fight. Not sure whether that excuse is true or not. On the other hand, GGG is approaching 40, and no boxer is as good as they ever were at that age. He's also not looked technically better under Banks. I think Sanchez had him looking better tbh. I'm pretty sad to see one of my favourites decline like this. He's got a couple of fights before he retires imho.

I still see him competing for 1-2 fights with anyone at the top level, after that he'll probably be there for the taking. Honestly, I'd rather he just bowed out now and go on a pretty decent high, Derev is a good fighter - then seeing him get Kovalev'd.

Honestly after the Canelo fights, his career is going down. If he managed to win at least one of the fights, he would be still in the picture. But mentally he will be a little damaged and plus aging he will slowly fade.

why is everyone in a hurry to say he is finished. He is still fighting .. One bad fight will not mean he is washed up.. Let's see how he does.. He has not had many tough fights.
