Wilder shouldn't be too aggressive against Ortiz

We can joke as much as we want about Luis Ortiz age, but the man can fight - he has great counter-punching skills, good accuracy and good boxing IQ. If Wilder just goes there and tries to blow him out like he did in the rematch with Stiverne, it may end bad for him. Even at 60 Ortiz is MUCH betetr than Stiverne LOL Luis at least is training and had some fights recently while Bermane was in awful shape and extremely inactive coming to the rematch with Wilder.

I think Wilder should do the same thing he did in the first fight - just box cautiously and wait for Ortiz to tire and start making mistakes. Ortiz is almost two years older than he was in the first fight, and in his age reflexes are diminishing quickly. His stamina also will be worse. If Wilder fights cautiously I don't think Ortiz can beat him - I think Wilder stops him in 5-6 rounds this time. But if Deontay decides he should just come there and demolish Ortiz like he did with Stiverne, Ortiz may catch him early and knock him out.

Martin Bakole's trainer Billy Nelson predicts Ortiz to KO Wilder in 4 rounds, by the way -

I hope it doesn't happen since I think Wilder's win would be better for boxing. But I'm afraid Wilder might fight too reckless in the rematch

He should be clearly worse, but in the first fight Wilder was VERY cautious in the first half of the fight, so Ortiz was winning the rounds but didn't have many chances to land something big. When Wilder thought Ortiz was tired and it's time to become more aggressive, Ortiz caught him with a great right counter following it with some good left hooks that put Wilder on spaghetti legs in the seventh round.

Wilder is constantly saying he will finish Ortiz early this time. My point is if he tries to blow him out like he did with Stiverne in the rematch, Ortiz can catch him with a counter-punch and finish him off since he won't be as tired in the early rounds as much as he was in the seventh round of the first fight

Was it round 2 or 3 of the first fight where he thought Ortiz was rocked when he actually slipped and then went sprinting in like he always does when he hurts someone trying to put him away before almost walking into something big? He backed up rather quickly after that.

Agreed. Ortiz is the best counter-puncher in the division right now, which can always spell trouble for a windmiller. But I think Wilder will be patient and pick his spots.

    On the contrary.

The Ortiz recent form of his last few fights just has not been that good. I think Wilder should come out bombing early and test those old reflexes. The first or second round of landing the bombs can either get a quickie stoppage or set the tone for the rest of the fight. But Wilder should test the old guy early and force him to pass the test.

Wilder is able to knock his opponents out even in the 12th round, so, yeah, he shouldn't rush it too much with Ortiz.
Because Ortiz is old, but he's not Stiverne. Ortiz actually trains and he's a southpaw. I’m sure Wilder will be very cautious in the first several rounds.
