Naoya Inoue says Luis Esteban "Pantera" Neri Hernández should be lifetime banned from the sport.

Do you agree w/ Monster?

  1. He should serve a ban, but not lifetime. Lighter, maybe a year?

  2. Yes, screw you, Pantera, GTFO!

    29.8%
  3. No, everybody deserves a.. uh, fourth or fifth chance.

    8.5%
  4. He should be penalized by having to step in with Inoue for his next (and last) fight.

    27.7%

    {on his official Twitter account}

Neri was supposed to defend his WBC bantamweight silver title against Emmanuel Rodriguez on tomorrow's Wilder vs. Ortiz II undercard, but missed the limit by a pound. Rodriguez - who is coming directly off a brutal knockout loss to Inoue this past May - declined to risk his own safety by going ahead with the fight and indulging Neri (at this point a repeat offender, as well as drugs cheat) with the advantage of rehydrating to potentially the mid 130's.

Leduan Barthelemy vs. Eduardo Antonio Solorza Ramírez has been elevated into the PPV opener slot.

Inoue was poised to eventually have a major lucrative showdown with the undefeated Neri (considered by some the number two bantamweight at present despite not holding a world championship), but whether he would agree to fight him now with the further sinking of the Mexican's reputation is a murky proposition. Kind of hard to come back from "that guy should never be allowed to fight again"; kind of embarrassing if one day Inoue does sign on the dotted line...

Inoue should go and sign the fight and end it brutally

Inoue's 100% spot on. This isn't a one off, he's a habitual recidivistic offender. I can make an excuse for it happening once, maybe twice, but damn... he's run out of chances, and I'm a guy that actually used to like him. **** him. The sport would be better off without him.

Also props to Naoya for having the integrity to speak out and not glossing over this or staying mum like many in his position would to protect the biggest payday on the horizon for themselves.

Just commented on his Twitter account!
The boxing world doesn’t need him! This is ridiculous and it’s become a habit of his. I guess his run with Roach wasn’t so great after all...

The usual partisan douchebags will be in here shortly to defend Nery because of some weird perceived commonality and Inoue's about to pick up a slew of detractors for saying what's obvious.

I just hope Inoue doesnt move to 122 pounds without fighting the best fighters in the division like he did at 115.

As for his opinion agree or not hes entitled to it and i dont have a problem with it.

It's clear Nery needs to move up in weight. Nery's an exciting fighter tho.. and 1lb over shouldn't be a reason to cancel but to fine big time.
Dude needs to get his **** together big time though, missing weight once isn't acceptable.. missing multiple times means you're just not taking it serious enough.

If it were his first time, he'd have a lot more sympathy. The reaction he's getting is more of a lifetime achievement award.

As young as he is and as big as he is, he should've just saved himself the hassle and quit pretending to be a 118 pounder. It's like the equivalent of a high school girl who stuffs herself into jeans 2 sizes too small so she can still say she's a size 7.

**** Nery. The guy already ruined the classy Yamanka through repeated cheating, which he didn't even need to do at that point of Yamanka career!

The ban won't be needed, as slowly promoters will begin to blacklist him as a liability.

When he's at his best, he's an unprofessional dork. At his worst, he's a drug cheat.

Don't let the door hit you on backside on the way out, you drug-cheating dork. Good on Inoue speaking out, and extra good on Emmanuel for not letting Nery get away with it.
