Boxing has always been corrupt. It was probably at its most corrupt in the 1950s when the most powerful figures were Blinky Palermo and Frankie Carbo, who was in Murder, Inc.
It´s the damn commissions. There is absolutely 0 structure and nobody is there to do anything when mistakes are made. The ABC´s themselves could rectify this but they are money hungry corrupt POS, so they don´t really care. IBF sometimes orders rematches. Just about anyone can become a judge. There is no formal training. MMA felt this the hardest, and they still do. Random boxing judges are appointed to MMA fights. Like wtf?
