exactly if Ortiz is such an easy touch why aren’t any of the other top guys fighting him?

This is a big ass salt mine, similar to all the other Wilder RBR's after Wilder dispatches his foe!

Um, no. It means he possesses hellish power. I've never said he didn't, and I've never said that he isn't a danger to anybody due to his power.

That doesn't mean you can start fabricating rounds for him to save face over his somewhat embarrassing but now quite moot point first-half effort (which is gratuitous and unnecessary for Wilder fans to even be doing right now when they should just be content to bask in the glory of a KO victory). That doesn't mean he's some gifted cerebral boxing prodigy and carefully orchestrated that moment after letting the Cuban outbox him for half the fight, and had planned on that exact shot for a KO7 all along. It means that he will always be able to bail himself with that power, something we already knew. I'll give the devil his due, and say that he's capable of being effective within his (conventionally/technically garbage) style. I'll even score rounds for him, when he does in fact win them...even close rounds. I'm capable of putting my rooting interest aside when scoring, believe it or not, and you can fuck right off for suggesting otherwise, btw. There's no excuse-making or sticking of head in the sand, on my end.

I'm not the one picking (and yet losing) this fight. You are.

He won by KO7. Yes. Day's end, that is the headline. So why are you quibbling about him winning two rounds (which he didn't; finding two even 10-10 rounds would be a big stretch) and taking umbrage at most people saying Ortiz had shut him out through six? That isn't "making excuses". That's being honest about what happened before Ortiz got KTFO.

Even after the KO, Ortiz is still one of the top heavy weight today. He is a live dog against any of the top 5 heavy weight.

he's a better athlete just by virtue of him being far more well rounded in the skills department (requiring greater control, coordination, timing and footwork to pull his performances off + having similar genetic gifts in height, reach and power. even the speed difference is negligible. what wlad didn't have was a great chin or a killer instinct.

Nah. I've always known this. My favorites were always the guys never being pushed or in the spotlight. Today for context - Hrgovic, Hunter, Dychko, Usyk etc. Why do you think I was a Bogdan Dinu hipster way back in the day?

A very very good match up n alot of opinionated discussion Id imagine...
Leave that one for another day, tonights about Wilder (love him or hate him)
    Let Ruiz worry about AJ....
In theory Id love to see Wilder vs Ruiz jr..
It would be a very interesting match up, Ruiz would give him fits at times however can never write off wilder until after the final bell..
A great match up in theory however...

Careful, don't go tossing his name around...Deontay might read the RBR and get inspired to make his next defense against poor Bogdan. :shakehead:

He counted to nine, and one second later, waved his arms indicating KO. Ortiz was almost vertical by that point.

However, immediately upon gaining his feet, he took two staggering steps backwards and his eyes were rolling.
In addition, he was on the canvas for almost two seconds before the count started.

They're all bums except for Usyk & Hunter. None of them are CW Level.

    The Cruiserweight Hipster has spoketh.:deal:

yeah he’s really good at seizing his opportunity, I was looking at Ortiz thinking he’s pretty sound, wilder might have to draw him into a fight to open him up a bit, then bam, lights out. Not sure how he does it, can’t be a fluke at this point.
