He had a purse bid for a silver wbc title, Don King won it and decided to put it on in the Congo. Seems that there was not much money for it in Africa so has not announced the fight.
He’s a Frank Warren fighter. I can pretty much guess his career path now. he’s ranked 7 with the WBO. Within the next 12/18 months he will be 1 with them and mandatory for Andrade or he will fight for the vacant title.
As scissors said he's with Frank Warren which instantly puts him behind the 8 ball. The old school waiting around for a WBO shot approach has had its day, this is a guy who could have made far more of a name for himself.
The Warren thread on here was where I listed what Warren fighters have been up to in 2019 so I won’t bother repeating it but I’d actually forgotten about Williams. It’s telling that he doesn’t make the headline fighters list when you search Warren’s website. The likes of Archie Sharp, Zelfa Barrett and (the retired) Nicola Adams do, which sort of suggests he’s not a priority for Frank.
From what he said today it is a final eliminator. He did slate Don King so not sure it will be the original opponent
