No doubt he’s many leagues above upcoming opponent Tom Little, but at 33 years old, what’s this guys professional potential? I know he has amateur wins over Joshua, Kuzmin, Dychko, Nistor and Yoka.

I would describe him as "decent but not spectacular"

His 2011 win over joshua was debatable and Joshua went to that tournament as an "itll be great experience for the kid" guy not as a serious contender for the title.

Since then the guy has always been around but has failed to really stand out amongst the top amateurs. He has a workmanlike style which wont be too bad in the pros.

Hes a different style but think Carlos Takam level, thats my prediction, he will run a few up and comers close and give any opponent a good workout

Thanks for the heads up. I heard that he dropped a debatable split decision to Joyce in the amateurs but was well beaten by Usyk in the WBS? Still, looking forward to seeing him brush Little aside in Diriyah

3 x Word Championship Gold medalist!! You know someone is good when they win that 3 times.Plus Olympic Bronze and European Gold. Absolute beast in his prime, huge power, granite chin, tough as nails, well rounded monster.

But the last 2 or 3 years in the amateurs was a regressed past his best version, yet he still won World championship Gold in 2017. He should've turned pro earlier, after the 2012 Olympics.I think what happened to his cousin Magomed Abdulsalamov - might've made him not fancy becoming a pro. But I still expect him to be a top 15/20 heavyweight in the pros, needs to be fast tracked. Better late than never.

@Furiouspillows you either are a troll or have very little knowledge. Nobody with all the Gold medals and resume Majidov has is just 'decent' lol

Plus he beat Joshua clearly, it was a close win on the scorecards but without headgear Joshua would've been stopped!
