Would like to see it get made next year.

    As per title... and WHY?

This thread is dedicated in unloving memory to a certain doctor out there in the general forum who has no neck

Ortiz will never fight a real contender in his prime , Rivas by KO.

Rivas is dangerous. He has fast hands, but I don't think he can capitalise on Ortiz. It takes a lot to beat a southpaw like Ortiz and not everyone can rely on a good right hand. Plus, Rivas missed many right hands in the Whyte fight.

I would say Ortiz outsmarts Rivas and wins by KO within 9 rounds. Not a fight I would suggest Rivas to take anyway.

I suggest you watch their fights against Jennings. And yes Jennings was way past it for Rivas.

He’s in good company here. Hammer, old Thompson, Malik Scott, Dave Allen and Travis Kaufman would be Rivas’ second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth best wins.

Both of them have their most notable wins over Jennings. Difference is Ortiz fought a younger and the better version of Jennings and put on a much better performance.

With Ortiz's age catching upto him, and his right hand magnetic dome I favour Rivas. He proved his chin against Whyte, but also showed he can be outboxed. Ortiz has FAR better feet than Whyte and Jennings but isn't as quick as Jennings, as powerful as Whyte and is at a disadvantage of being a sucker for Rivas's best punch.

I see Ortiz winning rounds easily with his jab and keeping Rivas wary with body shots before Rivas snaps into a huge overhand that sends Luis to sleep.

Also, Rivas has one if the best chins in the division and Ortiz has slowed down to the point he's not explosive enough to crack it. He ain't stopping Rivas.

I agree with this. They both have sh***y stamina but Rivas is the more durable guy and punches hard enough to get Ortiz out of there if he connects. Rivas would get outboxed and take a fair bit of punishment until the later rounds, where jumps on a tired Ortiz and stops him.

Ortiz by comfortable decision. Not a fan of Rivas as he lets fights drift away by doing nothing for large periods of time and he doesn't have Wilder like power to bail himself out. Ortiz has slowed down a lot with age but still has enough to beat Rivas.

Old Man Ortiz's massive melon is and always has been a magnet for right hands, has only fought one puncher his entire career, and I think he's packing

If Christina Hammer had a little more pop he would've sparked Ortiz, such was the ease he was catching him with rights all night. Rivas has a big right hand and I think he'd shatter Ortiz's ancient mandible.

Rivas has "Fast hands"? Good god. Compared to whom, Joe Joyce? Both guys punch in ****ing slow motion. But, I do agree Rivas might outlast what is left of Ortiz.
