Look at the two of them.

Canelo has a higher ring IQ, and a more adaptable style. He's clearly showed he can make adjustments as seen in the first and second GGG fights. He's also has a great team, who he's sticking with. Whilst GGG hasn't got a trainer who he's as comfortable with as he was with Sanchez.

GGG hasn't looked good in his last fight, and didn't look invincible against SD. He's only getting older and slower. So Canelo's getting better and GGG's getting worse, with one having a more adaptable style anyway. It makes sense who'll win the third. But I doubt we'll see Canelo at MW again, meaning this fights gonna happen north of 160, which probably favours Canelo and his stamina more.

Canelo imo whilst watching the first 2 fights did outbox GGG, but lost coz he took parts of rounds of, this losing them. He shouldn't have that problem as much now, given that he will have better stamina and GGG has slowed down, as well as showing a weakness to body shots.

Canelo wins, clearly, possibly by stoppage.

I agree Golovkin looks slower than ever. Derevyanchenko has a decent claim to a win, even though I scored it 7-6 to GGG, with the KD being the difference. I also think that ditching Sanchez was the wrong move. GGG has not looked impressive under Banks. The interviews with Banks have all the energy and dynamism of a hibernating snail on valium. At least Sanchez had that cocky machismo about him, which Golovkin seemed to feed off of.

I disagree on the Canelo fights. I felt that he bullied Canelo in the first fight and that ginger's flurries were not enough to win. In the second fight I felt that he'd baited Canelo into taking the offensive, and that as a result he'd managed to tag Canelo with the punches he'd not been able to in the first fight. In #1 people like Shadow were putting up a decent argument for Canelo based on the quality of the best punches landed. In #2 the big thunder was landed by Golovkin, as well as the volume.

As for getting hurt by SD to the body, well, that was a textbook liver punch. Any fighter in that weightclass would suffer from that shot. In no other fight has GGG ever been bothered by body punching, and that includes Jacobs who landed some sizzling punches to the pit of the stomach.

I have a feeling that if the "GGG was sick" story was bull**** concocted by Hearn, then Golovkin might well be in trouble in the Canelo trilogy. On the other hand, maybe he was feeling poorly and maybe he and Banks will finally click. The Szeremeta fight will reveal how a trilogy will go.

Edit: Drenlou pointed out my score added a point for GGG instead of deducting one for SD. So, 6-5.

I thought GGG won the first fight going away. I thought the second fight was closer, but he won again. I hope a trilogy does not happen - this time Canelo will likely legitimately win and some will say (incorrectly in my opinion) that this proves Canelo is the clearly superior fighter. But I believe if Canelo really wins the third the real score is 2-1 GGG or 1.5-1.5 at worst.

GGG has higher boxing IQ, he won the first fight with an aggressive pressure style and then beat Canelo again in the 2nd fight with a more backfoot countering approach, every aspect of GGG’s except power is underrated.

Golovkin should be 2-0-0 against Canelo or at worst 1-1-0. Fair enough if you think Canelo will win the third time but when it's all said and done, based on those two fights prime for prime GGG is the superior fighter.

If they had that 3rd fight i would guess that it would be at 168. Canelo aint ever coming back down to 160 even though he said he could. I personally felt Golovkin won the 1st 2 fights but they were close fights and i think age is starting to catch up with GGG. I think Canelo would be too much for Golovkin in a 3rd fight, especially at 168 and i would even predict the iron chin of Golovkin gets cracked forthe 1st time in his career.

Regardless of the outcome of the first two fights we all know that Canelo was juicing for both of them.

If he is so confident in his pharmacist then step up and fight Beterbiev....a real Alpha of his weight division.

If GGG was prime Canelo's adaptability wouldn't come in to it, he wouldn't be allowed to adapt, there would be no return either

Ggg higher IQ?? Only reason ggg made it close was because Canelos stamina that's it, ggg looked amateur at times getting easily countered with terrific defense by Canelo, Also it's amazing how Canelo took out ggg killer left hook to the body

if they fight again, canelo stops him. ggg edged their first fight, canelo beat the crap out of him the second fight. canelo has moved past ggg's current level, it wont even be very competitive.

Canelo juiced and still got beat. GGG, is looking as if the miles have caught up with him, especially as tough as the SD fight was on him. Slugging it out with GGG 3 times, is going to take something out of Canelo. If/when they fight again, Canelo’s scientists will brew up a potent cocktail to shoot him up with.

Of course a 28yr old loaded to the gills on Clenbuterol will have an easier time with a guy that's now 38 years old

Clenelo is clearly done fighting fighters under the age of 35.
