Sorry I’ve only just realised Tinoco moving up two weights. I thought it was just the one. Strange move as he appeared to be scheduled for a WBA trinket at feather in a few week so surely can’t be struggling with the weight that much. Is it possible Cordina moving down and they’re meeting at super feather? If not then it just doesn’t make sense.
yep i think the fight will be at 130 Looking at Tinocos boxrec it seems he has fought a lot at 130, he even fought Devin Haney @135 on short notice. But I agree that its strange for him to move up for no apparent reason.
Good fight. Think as mentioned Cordina is away to SFW. I feel Cordina will beat him handily in a good fight.
Fantastic fight and Cordina looks so much better at super feather. Made the weight comfortably actually came in lighter than Tinoco too! The lad has got it all except world class power perhaps but he’s a joy to watch. His shot selection, his angles, his footwork and pivots. Him and Dubois are the best prospects in the British isles. I know he’s already won the British and Commonwealth at lightweight but Cacace appears to be a free agent, I’d maybe put Cordina in with him next, win the British again and just build him steadily. Or maybe go for the European, Samir Ziani is the champion, his record doesn’t suggest he will have anything much to worry Cordina.
Personally don't rate him that highly - as in world level highly. There is no doubt he is skillful but he will need to hope the depth of fighters at world level isn't great when he's ready to try challenge imo. I think he will get absolutely hammered against a world class boxer/puncher. I think he will have a decent career but I'm not expecting an elite level fighter out of him, hopefully I'll be proven wrong.
He's only had 11 fights, he'll continue to learn his craft. He has some nice skills, I've felt that way from his amateur days. But in these divisions at world level, you better either have enough power to earn respect vs a pressure fighter/swarmer or one hell of a good inside game. Cordina for me, lacks in both areas. He'll look good vs a certain style of fighter, he's neat and tidy. The division is having changes with some fighter moving up, gaps may allow Cordina to slip in but I don't think he's good enough to become one of the very best in the division YET. He's talking of moving quickly so I'm judging on that. If he keeps improving, and has another 5-6 learning fights vs solid opposition then maybe. For me though, the silky amateur skills over a 12 round world class pro fight vs someone who with skill and punches hard , counters well or Leo Santa Cruz' you. He could have big problems IMO. I'm only judging on the thought that he could be legitimate world class, he's a very good boxer but I have a feeling, so we will see.
