Yeah it looked like chalk and cheese compared to the face off / Gloves are off. Is it because he's not sat directly opposite Ruiz or something else going on?

David Haye made about the only interesting point in the GLOVES are off debate when he talked about how Joshua's stamina and recovery issues come from not being able to slip punches. His reaction to being hurt is to cover up and block punches with his gloves and arms. But this saps your energy even more as you have to maintain a high guard and are constantly absorbing punishment even if it's not all connecting cleanly. Often fighters thought to have good chins are very elusive if they are hurt. Canelo can slip punches at will giving himself time to recover. Tyson Fury the same.

You make some very valid points.

If Joshua can control the range and distance with the jab and right hand he can win the fight and possibly make it look easy.

It all depends on how Joshua reacts when Ruiz hits him and counters back with combinations, Joshua is good at avoiding single shots but he struggled in the first fight dealing with the follow-up punches. He had the same problem in the amateurs and the manner of his defeat to Mihai Nistor was very similar to Ruiz.

He also made the mistake of continuously dropping down to Ruiz's height.

Every time Joshua throws a right hand, Ruiz will be trying to time him with a left hook, I would like to see Joshua start fast in the first round and try to nail Ruiz with the right hand to deter Ruiz from throwing the left hook counter.

If Joshua does not box to his strengths and throws pity pat punches adopting a jab and grab Klitschko esque style, I feel Ruiz will knock him out in a similar fashion to how Erkan Teper knocked out David Price.

They may be giving the game away bit by bit now. A custom built arena costing mega money which will be removed completely not long after the event. A beaten champion who is apparently on 10 times more prize money than the champion. Officials and judges who may well be (are) on the side of the promoter.

And finally, in that last report, the mention that they are expanding that ring to 22 feet inside the ropes.

Normal rules; "the maximum size 6.10m inside the line of the ropes" (rope to rope)- 20 feet.

Someone correct me if I am wrong on the dimensions. If not, what is happening here? The fix in?

    The fix is in 100%.

Unfortunately for team AJ and team skatchroom though the tubby Mexican won’t have read the script and as soon as he lands the first 4-5 punch unanswered combo on that glass jaw , it’s goodnight weightlifter.

I am not sure Wig. I have felt uneasy about it lately. Ring size ought to be within limits but they are outside of normality and making up their own rules. Only now, 2 days to the fight do we get to hear about it. Something is off.

I am wary about high profile fights. Pacman / Thurman, Canelo / Kov, both opponents picked. Andy is no different.

Apparently, yes. AJ loses the hefty muscles, more cardio and the ring expands.
