Is it possible Monzon is overrated ? S.I. Vault article rips him ..

I think everyone who watches Monzon for the first time finds him underwhelming. It appears that the author jumped far too readily to conclusions based on that first impression. The author also revealed some prejudice on his part. Fine writing though.

 

This would be a solid part of it. It takes time to appreciate Monzon's "effectiveness". He's not flashy. Most had to see him over time against guys they thought would give him a great fight or possibly beat him.
