There is a big difference in the opinion that Marciano would present problems to most heavyweights and believing that he would beat everyman that ever lived and you know it.
I said Walcott aged like fine wine but take what I say out of context I guess For what it's worth I think Patterson was a bad matchup for Archie, nor did he come in the condition he came in for Marciano
I've had debate after debate with @The Undefeated Lachbuster about this. We've come to the conclusion (or he's dragged me along with it) that he was prime, that was one of his best performances, and Rocky deserves full credit
Who? I think Rocky losses to Ali Foreman Lewis and possibly Tyson but competing in all. I’ve never seen anyone say he wipes the floor w everyone. The problem is any fight where u pick Rocky all of a sudden it’s hero worship as opposed to breaking down styles and abilities.
Good good! Although I can see arguments that both Charles was prime (or at least peak condition) and that Walcott was past prime. I just believe the opposite. I do think Moore was past prime, and out of his depth, but again see arguments for him being prime as well.
There are a few on here who could not bring themselves to type your pretty honest appraisal, trust me. The shear thought of them admitting that he would probably lose is not going to happen. Like I said, if he was a Norwegian Mormon it would be different. Make of that what you will.
Thank you. There are certain posters who never, ever pick against him no matter the odds yet we're the ones who are being irrational, "blindly" picking against him, need to learn more about boxing, etc. I think everyone in this thread who picked wilder has defended rocky in other threads, upheld his resume, or picked him in a vs thread at some point. Can't say the same for the people who rush to his defense EVERY time. You cannot call yourself objective if you haven't even once considered the possibility your favorite fighter might lose, let alone picking against then (and you certainly have no business criticizing others). For a comparison, ive seen waaay more threads where people pick against Robinson, Greb, Ali, Louis, Duran, etc without the thread turning into 30 page piles of poo and fanboys digging their heels in. Point being those are considered some of THE best p4p boxers of all time on just about anyone's list!
agreed i choose wilder to beat marciano in this matchup but i could also go for rocky stopping wilder because of his engine, power and heart plus wilder leaves himself to damn open which is bad to do against a guy like rocky
Not ......even .......close. Glad the votes reflect that. What sort of HW would Wilder be if he couldn't beat a tough durable Light Heavy Weight?
You said Walcott was," prime at 38 and 8 months, and that he aged like fine wine" I didn't agree where did I take your statement out of context? Patterson was a bad matchup for Archie? Wouldn't he have been a better match up for him if Archie was 33/34years old?
