Look Joshua floored Ruiz with a great 2 hit combo, Ruiz took it well and got up without looking disoriented. It's what followed which impressed me the most, Ruiz ate a monster right as soon as the action resumed and it still didn't phase him. Those same turn of events would have finished the likes of Klitschko and Povetkin who were in cloud cuckoo land each time they were floored by Joshua. Furthermore Joshua won't go crazy for a knockout given what happened last time. I think Joshua will give a similar performance as he did against Parker fight but Ruiz will be putting up a lot more of a fight than Parker did that night.
You might well be correct, however AJ reports they have made changes, being the 3rd K brother stylewise fits his physique, whether he can do that in anyway as good as the bros is another question. Changes certainly are needed by AJ if he is to prevail against Ruiz, i think AJ and his team will have formulated a successful gameplan to beat Ruiz, what it will be we will have to wait and see, or indeed if it will be good enough to overcome Ruiz.
I think the Ruiz loss will make Joshua a much better boxer in the long term, however for there to be a long term he needs to win this fight. Ruiz had never been knocked down until he met Joshua and contrary to opinion he didn’t bounce straight back up he was up at 8.5 seconds. While Ruiz wasn’t disoriented by the knock down its silly to say he wasn’t affected by it, he certainly was. Joshua made the mistake of thinking Ruiz was ready to go and with thoughts of an impressive debut in his mind he went for a spectacular KO leaving himself wide open to a less hurt Ruiz who caught him with a concussive punch behind the ear. Had Joshua read Ruiz better he wouldn’t have dived on him, he’d have taken more time and over the next few rounds probably would have landed more combinations on Ruiz. As tough and as granite chinned as Ruiz is there is no boxer ever who can continue to take heavy shots like that, the cumulative effect would have eventually worn Ruiz down. In the first fight Ruiz drew Joshua forward stepping back making Joshua fall short with his punches then stepping forward with fast counters easily catching a heavy and slower Joshua. We’ll see how a lighter more mobile Joshua boxes on Saturday, I’m expecting something along the lines of Lewis v Tua while accepting that neither AJ or Ruiz are as good as their counterparts. I think AJ will stay on the outside and force Ruiz to come forward thus turning the tactics from the first fight on their head. Joshua will clinch when up close and drape himself over Ruiz, Wlad style, sapping Ruiz energy and gassing him later in the fight. By round 9 Ruiz will need a Knock Out By the end of Round 10 a punished and fatigued Ruiz will be a virtually spent force, leaving him wide open but with virtually nothing left with which to stop Joshua. At that stage, after Round 10, I think his corner, his dad, will end the fight with Ruiz on his stool. If not I can see a TKO Round 11 Some will call The Ref for being biased if it goes the way of a TKO Of course, Ruiz could jump Joshua who may get caught again and all the adjustments and tactics could go out the window. This is heavyweight boxing one shot can change everything as the first fight illustrated. If Joshua wins I think it’ll be revealed that Ruiz has secured a rematch clause and it’ll go to a decider in a best of 3 series.
Absolutely! I see the same fundamental flaw between the two big names (AJ and Wilder). Shorter fighters like Ruiz, Usyk and Parker are going to continue to give them issues until they how to defend coming forward. Both AJ and Wilder have the same issue in that regard, as both rely on their own output. With suspect chins that is really going to impact the longevity of their careers, as it only takes one fast inside shot that they don't see coming. With that I give AJ a huge amount of respect for jumping straight back in with Ruiz. If it was me, I would be taking a couple of fights first to ensure I have the kinks out my armour for that style of fighter...
I think AJ honestly believes Ruiz got lucky. This will be his downfall. If he thinks he doesn't need to change anything from the first fight he'll get pummeled around the ring once again.
I'm officially adding Gareth A Davies to the "Dream Night Out", imagine walking in to a club with Gareth dressed like that, the glasses, the atttiude, you know we are instantly getting VIP treatment. So far we have.. Kalle Gareth Just those two alone and I would expect to never to be the same person again.
Last guy who AJ stopped early was Martin who looked like he showed up for a PayDay, kinda sitting on his butt on the canvas wondering if he should get up and pretend to care so the check clears! Not the hungry fighter that showed up to win against Kownacki!!
Ruiz by mid to late stoppage. If this goes the distance though, there's no way in hell Ruiz will get a decision in Saudi Arabia.
Instant VIP treatment, as much free Cristal as you could drink, and the attention of as many hot chicks as you could plough in a lifetime lol Gareth A Davies Kalle And let's not forget David ''Death Row'' Diamante either. A man who has lived a thousand lives and stared death in the eyes many times and lived to tell the tale. Street fighter, boxer, DJ, bouncer, drummer, reformed alcoholic and drug addict, ring announcer you name it he's done it all https://i.postimg.cc/xdGxh4Pq/cover4-1.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/85tyPf9S/dave-diamante-3.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/FscB0zJj/diamante-10.png https://i.postimg.cc/7YTNjRHD/diamante-7.png https://i.postimg.cc/851KSmy4/images-12.jpg This content is protected
Can you imagine a prime Evander Holyfield or Ray Mercer stalking Joshua and eating his best shots then attacking him?? they'd clean out the division today with all the Fragile Mandible Supermodel Pre-Madonna Heavyweights we have today... it's pretty sad... Brits all of a sudden said the Heavyweight Division was back only because they had some hyped contenders popping up from their country! If the same guys popped up in Canada they wouldn't give a crap!!
Joshua wins by stoppage by round 9. I honestly think that we didn't see the real AJ last time and he won't step in foolishly like he did last time until he's sure Ruiz is ready to go. AJ will hit Ruiz on the inside and then smother in the clinches, repeat until Ruiz is ready to go. Not even an iron chinned Ruiz can take multiple full blooded shots from AJ. Nobody can. Can Ruiz stop AJ again? Well, of course he can but only if he is given the opportunity. And I dont see him getting that opportunity.
