It would be similar to the Morrison fight in my opinion. Mercer to get almost stopped by a huge shot but recovers to stop Joshua.
If I'd have being asked this question a year ago I'd have said, AJ pummel s him. Now I'm going with this. Ray eating punches then dropping him. Joshua ends up getting stopped. Mercer would pull off the win in shocking style.
Mercer is superior to Ruiz in every single way accept handspeed. Mercer could box with Joshua if he wants (Mercer's jab is very solid), Joshua gasses, and Mercer gives another one of his ruthless, sadistic, satisfying KOs
I'll go with this. Maybe look at things differently after today's fight but Mercer at his best always gives any decent heavyweight an hard fight. He's ultra dangerous for AJ now we how Ruiz knocked him silly imo.
I have a feeling that worse comes to worse and AJ does lose again then that's the last we'll see of him in the ring. Not sure where he could go after that tbh.
Joshua would likely use his jab to keep the fight at range and bang away when Mercer comes closer. I don't think Mercer has the speed to really bother AJ, although that fast, sharp jab of his was surprisingly good. I think AJ on points is most likely.
Joshua trying to ko Mercer fast would be his worst mistake. Would be like trying to smash a brick wall with his fists.!
Mercer would take all AJ could give him take him into deep water and drown him .Mercer by brutal KO mid rnds.Not pretty
