If Andy Ruiz Jr got himself in shape and fought at cruiserweight, how would he do?

I have always felt that he has the build that would allow him to make this transition if he got himself fit. He is the right height to be a good cruiserweight and he is fat enough to be able to lose most of the weight required simply by shifting his excesses blubber.

How do you feel Andy Ruiz would do against the present top cruiserweights? Personally, I feel he would be right in the mix given that he was able to hold his own against much bigger men at heavyweight whilst being obese. At cruiserweight he would be fighting people who were of similar size to him whilst being much fitter than he was at heavyweight.

In my opinion it would be a pretty difficult task for Andy to fight with both his legs surgically removed ....

This. Ruiz is a naturally heavyset guy, so even in shape he’d still be around the 220-230 lbs. Andy like a lot of heavyweights nowadays has a garbage diet.

I still believe he could reach cruiserweight given how much body fat he has and also feel that he would be better at a lower weight.

However, given that he couldn't muster the willpower to lose weight for the biggest fight of his life that could have led to incredible wealth on a scale well beyond what earned so far if won; I don't think we will ever find out what a much lighter Ruiz could achieve.
