Absolutely disagree. If it was a fluke, he would've came in his well known style to hunt the KO once again. Ruiz has a very good punch resistance which was against AJ in their first fight. What AJ did is: he simply used his size advantages to secure his victory.
Ahahaha JM22. funny **** man. I think AJ has weak chin... it is what it is man. I dont know what Andy will do next, I wish best for him, he is a tough *******.
The first fight was no fluke. AJ just got it wrong, thought he dontonruiz what he has done to everyone else. Once they had time to study him, take him seriously and come up with a game plan beating him was pretty straight forward. Ruiz was just a lot better/tougher than they fought. But AJ was good enough to be able to make the adjustments and ruiz wasn't. Ruiz won the first fair and square and Joshua won the 2nd fair and square. Both deserve credit.
Again the problem with this genius "study" and preparation of AJ is the simple fact that Ruiz was a absolute no show, a non entity and he would have lost to a number of fighters yesterday without much fuss because he was absurdly out of shape.......and still that mail in had Aj run like a rabbit.......also ruiz aint no banger, he is a sharp puncher not a lights out puncher. When Buster Douglas showed up in similar shape against Holyfield he got iced.............there are a number of Top Heavies past and present who would have made sure Ruiz aint seening the final bell. yesterday
100% the amount of shrilling and kool aid drinking after his win over AJ was comical.. Good on him for winning but it was a perfect storm for it to happen.. Wilder demolished Breazeale so AJ mentally decided he need to flatten Ruiz in similar fashion, it was is US coming out, he had to make a statement.. First couple of rounds were similar to the 2nd fight but in round 3 AJ connected with a shot that put Ruiz to the canvas, AJ though he was hurt so he sloppily went into Ruiz's danger zone got clipped and the rest was history.. Ruiz didn't win the first fight AJ lost it by being stupid and no one in the heavyweight division can be stupid cause well you will get KTFO... Unfortunately Ruiz was also drinking too much of his own Kool Aid so he turned up with out any game plan other than to hope AJ would be stupid again.. Ruiz is a dangerous fighter when you come to him but he can't cut off the ring (you being a fat blob and all that), AJ just fought the way he should always fight someone like Ruiz..
He outboxed Ruiz long range last time aswell (untill the templeshot) If not for that he had the fight. Maybe not 12/12 but 8/12 or so. (Just based of the look of it - pre knockdowns) His fault was that he tried to take Ruiz out last time.
Exactly. And it's not a little coincidence that those suggesting that this was somehow not due to Joshua's rushing in for the KO are largely among his most biased critics. Fact is, Joshua is, was, and always will be levels above Ruiz. Ruiz was always 2019's Buster Douglas and Hasim Rahman, a guy who got lucky and upset a much better fighter.
Anthony Joshua before the Ruiz jr rematch has never fought with the stick and move style before in his pro career. <<<<He completely change his style because of what happen in the first fight when Ruiz crack Joshua's chin. It wasn't a fluke.
You would say that as AJ is everything you left wing fruit cuckolds worship. As already stated, if it was a fluke AJ wouldn’t have totally changed his outlook and gameplan, coupled with the fact he faced a guy who came in arrogant and morbidly obese.
I didn't say it was a fluke but a perfect storm.. If AJ left himself open like he did in the first fight he would have been gotten out of there by many guys. He would have probs lost the 2nd fight as well. The problem was AJ lost that fight by being sloppy not Ruiz being cagey.. Now the 2nd fight AJ realises he can't walk someone down who has a granite chin so he changes his game plan to suit the fighter.. Why? To win his belts back. Now we all knew this Ruiz and his team knew this but they couldn't do anything about it, maybe Ruiz realised this and stopped trying in training camp who knows.. It is a bit of a Fuke in the fact AJ was stupid in the first fight, he wasn't in the 2nd..
Very fair and balanced assessment. Styles make fights, Joshua's typical style was tailor made as he gives up height a lot and it played perfectly into Ruiz style. He won the second because he changed not only his style but his approach. He dropped bulk and looked as fresh in round 12 as he did in round 1 and the shots that bothered him before he took fine. Stamina definitely aids durability and ability to recover. I don't actually think Joshua's chin is bad, I'd say it's above average considering the wlad shot didn't just lay him out completely. His inability to recover has made his chin look worse than it is. If he has any sense then he continues this and doesn't go back to bench pressing Watford.
Joshua's style last time would have worked out just fine if it was not for Ruiz chin. He outboxed him before be decided to take him out...
