Does your fitness level have anything to do with your technique? Ive recently let myself go, and my boxing skills dropped dramatically. Stance feels weird to be in, My footwork feels slow, my punches feel weird, head movement is slow, etc. Is this because I am out of shape? I’ve gotten really fat

Salaam bro. Answer to your question is yes and no. Yes in the sense that once you get tired you will start to make mistakes and your technique will look bad. And no because you might just not have boxed in a while so it might take you time to get back to your best.

I know overweight people who have very very good technique and vice versa
