Lots of people drawing comparisons with Lewis’s revenge fight vs Rahman but they’re very wide of the mark, so much so that I question their understanding of boxing.

The only real comparable Lewis fight is that Vs Tua, Lewis recognised that Tua posed a very extreme threat and that he possessed a granite chin. Lewis fought the smartest fight and won without ever getting into dangerous waters while Lewis himself didn’t go for a KO and was happy on the outside winning round after round.

True although Lewis legitimately hurt Tua in their fight. The bodybuilder Joshua didn't trouble the blob at all. Tua got scared going forward, he was not so aggressive than he usually was, his trainer was going mental.

Joshua hurt Ruiz 2 or 3 times during the fight including the big right hand that opened a cut over his left eye.

He'll duck Joshua even more now.

He's now realised that AJ is not only a powerhouse with crushing power, but also a top level boxer who could make a fool out of him however he chooses.

The landlord is living in Wilders head rent free.

Did Tyson fury run against klitschko or put on a boxing masterclass to get the win? What about Saunders against Lemieux?

First the David Tua that Lewis fought was a lot more dangerous than the 280+lbs, single shot throwing Andy Ruiz that AJ had to deal with. That version of Andy Ruiz who showed up on Saturday (or rather didn't show up) should get stopped by any real HW champion.
Plus Lennox Lewis kept David Tua at the end of his jab all night long and established his presence in the center of the ring. Lennox was the true ring general in that fight. I didn't see that with AJ. I saw a nervous fighter who over moved and ran from a slow, single shot throwing and ill prepared opponent. But yes, it worked and AJ won. At the end of a day, a W is W and that's all that matters. But I don't see how anybody is impressed with that kind of performance.

AJ did what he had to do to win. He frustrated Ruiz with movement that is not known to be used by AJ. Whilst at times he didn't look comfortable doing it , but once he was in the rhythm, he pulled a game plan off to near perfection.

Deontay and his 36K PPV sales can stfu

When Deontay finds his Alabama marbles, he can catch an Alabama flight to fight AJ or Whyte in a unification bout

    Unify with AJ

or Unify with Whyte for interim status

You're an idiot to think that a fighter who dominated another fighter in their first match couldn't win a rematch.

Before the fight did you think Joshua had that kind of boxing ability, consistent jab, accuracy, footwork, timing, judgement of distance and the ability to keep that up for 12 rounds?

    Out of topic.
But I certainly didn't see a great overall performance from AJ in this fight, and not a great 'pure boxing' performance either. You make it sound like AJ gave us a '1966 Muhammad Ali style' boxing showcase here, while in reality it was anything but that. Far from it. And against an overmatched opponent at that.

Whatever your judgement of the quality and I’m certainly not comparing him with Ali, he displayed skills and stamina that many have said he didn’t possess.
Robotic, Stiff, Bodybuilder, too upright, gasses easily etc

On Saturday he at least showed there’s more than just a 6’6” 254lb bully in there

AJ's fight generated a total purse of 70 million pounds.

How much exactly did Wilder do again? 100k PPV w/ a $3 million guarantee? Wilder is jealous AF.

Fury is probably the best right now. It damn sure isn't Wilder. Joshua would jab and move around on Wilder also, except when Joshua's right hand, or left hook land flush on Wilder, it would be lights out. Wilder seems to get his legs stiffened by a swift breeze at times. I know I wasn't the only person to noticed he seemed hurt by a relatively light looking shot from Ortiz.
