Exactly and the timing of the event made it more main stream than a UK 4am fight time. Also you can add in, that if this fight was at Wembley as opposed to abroad. You can shave off 2/3% off the ppv as they would be in attendance

Population of UK is 60mil, California 40mil, but yeah you're definately onto something, cheaper PPV would ultimately get more exposure for the fighters and probably open up other revenue streams apart from OTT PPV prices, which lets face it only hardcore boxing fans are actually going to buy most of the time.

Surely the cheaper prices that will invariably generate bigger exposure will in turn generate a large fan base long term for the fighters.

And I thought £25 was expensive to watch a boxing match on the tele.

Americans seriously pay 80 dollars to watch one fight ?

    That's ridiculous.

I agree it would not do as many PPV buys for sure, but I do not think it might be as simple as you are making out, but I could be wrong.

If it was £57.00 like you say, I think UK fans would still buy PPV for big events like the Joshua vs Ruiz fight, they would just not buy as many PPV events per year.

I admit I do not know off the top of my head how many boxing PPV events there are in UK, and USA per year, but I would think the UK would have more boxing PPV events than the USA, which is explained by the lower PPV price.

I do think Joshua vs Ruiz would most certainly do over a million PPV at £57.00, but if it was at that price people would just miss the less important fights every year, and buy less overall.

I thought it 1.5 with Klitschko and 1.4 against Parker.

I think Joshua has the top 3 best selling PPVs in the UK.

Damn the prices are super high for USA. In Australia here, its usually around $50-$60 ($40 USD, £31) for ppv, but we obviously have a low market when it comes to boxing. No wonder some US fights just don't have 500k plus buys. I don't think there is a single fight in the world that I'd pay $100+ AUD for, especially when its always shown at pubs for free.

This is great, actually amazing, but it's a problem for getting what we all want.. Wilder Vs AJ, Fury Vs AJ.

I've grown to like Wilder, I like the character he plays, he plays it well and he knocks people out, regardless of the level of opposition you have to admit Wilder for all his faults is entertaining but he couldn't sell water to a man dying of thirst in the desert.

250k of buy Vs Ortiz is so poor how can a deal between these two ever get done?

How can Wilder go in to negotiations with AJ demanding anything near 50/50, it's genuinely unreasonable but I do understand why he wants what he wants.

He has the missing piece of what AJ wants, but on the business side of things Wilder and the platform he is on are struggling to sell him and struggling to generate money.
