Genuine top 10 guy. Pity the years are flying by though. Not AJ's fault. It's a solid enough defence. I don't give Pulev much of a chance these days but Andy Ruiz showed us one punch can change it v AJ and Pulev has a nice right hand. However, Pulev's chin was absolutely shattered v Wlad so AJ should dispatch before the end IMO.
I was never keen. A thug and a bully, as well as that unsavoury business recently. He's got a stiff jab but not much else and Vlad splattered him. Even one eyed Hughie pushed him. Retains his ring no.10, just. Easy defence for AJ and I will not be paying.
Pulev’s got a great jab, but other than that he’s a pretty messy fighter. It might not be fantastic watch, unless AJ can get too grips with him quickly. It’s a solid defence though.
You can surround the outside of the plate with fruit but there is a crumble in the middle - Wlad destroyed this nobody 5 years ago yet somehow these puddings get recycled.
Did you watch him at O2 World in 2014 against Wlad? Yours truly was there that night. The easiest fight of his career and Pudding Pulev was dancing on jelly legs most of the fight - awful
Decent enough fight, Pulev is a good Heavyweight, he had a go at Wlad and went all out, backfired but I guess he thought that was his only chance. Yes there are better opponents out there for AJ to face but they're currently otherwise occupied/supposed to be fighting each other soon.
Pulev will bottle it again and pull out of the fight. The only entertaining fight he has been in is when Klitschko beat him up..I couldn't care less what people say, i would be disappointed if this fight took place.
He’s a mandatory and this one is pretty much out of Joshua’s hands, he has to honour it. Pulev has got a quality jab and bags of experience. He knows how to get himself through a fight and win the rounds. However, stylistically, he is tailor made for Joshua. He is very upright, leans back to avoid punches and his feet are quite static. Joshua should be able to go to work without worrying to much about counter shots (would be difficult for Pulev with him leaning back constantly) so i don’t think we’ll be seeing any shocks here. Pulev is all about the right hand. I can see Joshua finishing him the same way as Klitschko, with a big left hook.
Pulev is a pudding mate and he done nothing in the Wlad fight. The easiest fight Wlad had with Toe Haye coming 2nd.
Even the Bulgarians I spoke to, while on holiday, thought Plodding Pulev would be flattened, leading up to the original date. Let’s hope Usyk gets the call. Fighting only twice a year for gigantic purses, customers deserve only the best in the other corner.
I know he falls slightly into that category, that now famous category, but I thought he at least tried to have a go against Vlad, he just failed. It's a difficult one, I know many are calling for Joshua to fight Usyk but if that happened it would be yet another of the high ranked heavies fighting Joshua before Wilder or Fury. Pulev is a mandatory and is still more of a threat than Breazeale, Schwarz or Wallin, I think AJ is allowed this one having already faced Parker, Povetkin and Ruiz jnr before they have, I would mention Breazeale and Martin too but those two turned out to be desserts made in Jurgens kitchen!
