There's Rivas and Hrgovic too. Those guys seem to have very good chins. Not yet top 10 but getting there quickly.
Yeah true, I did say the Heavyweights we are talking about, I mean, Joe Joyce hasn't been dropped either but we are not talking here and now. We are talking about AJ Vs Wilder or Fury, Ruiz was in the conversation because of his AJ win and maybe Whyte because he was WBC number 1 for a while and maybe even Parker, former world champion and lost twice on PTS, he could be thrown in. Other than those, nobody else is really breaking the door down, some decent contenders and decent shouts but they need a little more.
Disclaimer - Didn't watch the vid.. AJ might be scared but Wilder hasn't really done anything remotely close to trying to get the fight.. Smoke and mirrors don't count.
Good post but the undertone of it seem to me like its DW that doesn't want to fight AJ and I dont agree with that. I think DW would fight him tomorrow if he could while I find it hard to believe that a guy who changed his style up to avoid slugging it out with a guy who destroyed him would be eager to get in with the hardest puncher in the game who can spark you in one shot and is on an absolute roll right now. If im Hearn id keep DW as far from AJ as possible for now. DW is older so they could let it marinate till he starts to fade a bit.
Ah I think the new blood will come in soon, Hunter was supposed to begin processions but Povetkin is still a beast because they don't make em like they used to. Once the old guard is surpassed, with Pulev, Povetkin and Ortiz fizzling away, we'll see these young guns build up off their names and establishing themselves as top 10 fighters. They'll challenge the current champs and show what they can bring to the table. It's only a matter of time until we see these quality fighters make a name in the division. It seems it'll be soon too. 2020 should be a year for the prospects, I expect Kownacki, Hrgovic and to have a top 15 fight and for Joyce to grab a hopefully vacated WBA regular title or something in a good matchup.
I'm all for fighting for your worth but this fight is very close to May/Pac in terms of delay. Some of the shine is already off of it because of the battering AJ took from Ruiz.
This will drag on for a few more years yet at which point it will be pointless. Wilder is already 34.
