Azumah stops him in an exciting fight, where Bobby has moments and shows his grit but the outcome is never seriously in doubt! Does not matter which weight for me.
I love Bobby,and he'll have moments and show great courage. But as the rounds go by he's going to get hit cleaner and far more often, don't think Bobby could make 15 but it's possible.
I'm a huge Azumah fan and not totally objective. That aside, I'm very confident in picking Nelson. I do think he had too many facets to his game, too much fortitude, too much everything, ... He was just a boss inside that ring. You had to be Whitaker or Sanchez to take him down in prime form.
Going to war with Bazooka Limon and Boza Edward's is a bit different than heading into battle with the professor. Too strong hits too hard too smart ect ect. The Professor stops him. Chacon just too easy to hit.
Nelson, just a little too versatile for Bobby, would be an interesting fight cos Bobby comes to fight. I'll go with Nelson by 13 round ko.
Good to see Nelson getting his props. Bobby is a very very good fighter but Azumah has him covered for mine.
I remember first watching Schoolboy Bobby Chacon, as he was referred to on the weekly fights, Boxing From The Forum, back in the early 1970's. He showed tons of promise, and years later, he proved to be a great fighter, especially the fight with Boza Edwards, in 1983. Azumah The Professor Nelson, was a last minute substitute for no.1 ranked Mario Miranda, of Colombia, on the night of July 21 1982, in Madison Square Garden, for an opponent for WBC World Featherweight Champion Salvador Sanchez, of Mexico, who was making his 9th title defense. He stood up to the champion for those 15 rounds before falling prey to the champion, by a TKO 15. He gave Sanchez, one of the hardest fights of his career, which unfortunately became his last. Nelson vs Chacon would turn out to be a war, but the strength and stamina would turn out to be the deciding factor, Nelson by TKO 12.
