Young wouldn't beat any of them. Liston wouldn't beat any of them.

Frazier probably loses to all of them because of the massive height differences. (Tyson Fury is a 6'9", 260-pound switch-hitting boxer/puncher for God's sake. He's not Dave Zyglewicz or Terry Daniels.)

Foreman would struggle, because he would be the smaller guy against all of them, and none of them would lay on the ropes and wait for him to get tired of hitting them. (And Lyle, Ali and Young had George down. What would Wilder do to him? Fury would humiliate him.)

The only guy who would be a favorite over them is Ali. And we all know he had a LOT of bad days.

In fact, since this goes to 1976, I don't think ANY version of Ali who showed up in 1976 beats any of them - Fury, Wilder or Joshua. Ali was awful in 1976.

And not one of today's heavyweights should be allowed in the Hall of Fame.

Of course they should. What a ridiculous thing to say.

And who do you have beating them in the WBA Tourney in 1967/68? Thad Spencer?

Very possible . Fighters of today's Skill level are very basic, like some of the posters on this site understanding of boxing. Some of you see two men throwing punches and automatically assume the bigger man will win, then you assume because the fighters today on average are bigger than fighters from past decades you rant and rave about how they would destroy the fighters from the past. Those assumptions are wrong. Slipping and countering, proper use of the jab, infighting , timing , hand placement and directing opponents to where its advantageous to the fighter trying to get them their, body punching , training to a point were the fighter is fighting instinctively ,opposed to thinking about the opening , reacting to it. Theirs a Hugh difference. And it's not just the Heavyweights , boxers in general in today's game are lacking in the skills of fighters in the past. Heavyweights are just the most obvious in their lack of skills .

It's a broad question. I'd like to see them all face each other before judging them across eras. I don't really know how good any of them are yet. Let's see them sort out who is the best heavyweight today. Let's see them be tested first. I dont care who can out tweet the others. I want to see them fight each other.
That's too much to ask these days. If I had it my way Wilder and Joshua might be going into their 3rd bout by now with Fury poised to face the winner.

Worst post of the day. And I just got off a thread with a guy who thought Ring rates Wilder and Fury the top two heavyweights right now because it's easier to get photos for the magazine if the fighters live in the U.S.

Joshua who is willing to fight most contenders would do well, have an outside chance with Frazier, probably beat Elllis, great match up with Quarry, Fury too could be a real contender a la Lyle's level and maybe beat Shavers, Quarry but fall short versus Ali, Frazier, Foreman possible Norton. Ruiz would be a lower top ten fighter at best while Wilder would spend most of the time defeating bums and lower-tier contenders while avoided the big guns. Dangerous a la Merritt or Shavers.
