The fight will be for the vacant Ring belt and since I respect my homies' opinions here. What are y'all thoughts? :chuck: :sherlock:

How is Fury exactly rated #1 by The Ring?
He's coming off wins over Wallin and Schwarz and neither are even top 10 according to their rankings.

The Ring belt is not up for grabs just Lineal.

And what about his fights after? How don't they diminish his standing?

To become Lineal you must beat the man. He hasn't been beaten, yet.

I would say no since these two aren’t the clear cut best 2 in the division honestly. The winner of this vs Joshua would be a lineal title fight in my eyes

Fury has not beaten anyone in the top 10 since Wlad.
Wilder has only fought two legitimate top 10 contenders.
    Ring Magazine can **** off.

His win over Wlad was a long time ago, but when you consider that the older and inactive version of that Wlad is also Joshua’s best win, Chisora who he dominated is still relevant, has the draw with Wilder who he arguably beat and Joshua went 1-1 this year with a guy who wasn’t in anyone’s top10 last year, he justifies the #1 spot. More so than Wilder or Joshua in my view.

The point of the lineal belt is that it's less prone to opinion than others. It's very simple in concept.

I don't particularly buy in to its importance, but it's absolutely on the line in that fight. No argument about it.

    Yes.

Fury and Wilder are very clearly the best two HW fighters in the division.

    That's Faaaaaar from Clear, Luf.

AJ had an off night and got careless.

He has avenged that loss, and if we look at the most recent outings, AJ was more convincing than Fury and, but for the KO (yeah, I know it's a big 'but' ), Wilder.

That said, both TBRB and RING have Wilder and Fury at 1 and 2, albeit not in the same order. Therefore, the winner of the rematch should be considered the 'new' linear / lineal champion.

No. The undisputed HW crown will only be on the line when the winner faces Joshua.

If you accept that Fury vs Wlad was for the lineal then yeah, Fury hasn't been beaten since or been inactive to the point a new lineage is established
