Briggs, better chin. That's what this brawl would come down to imo. Also, if it does miraculously pass 2 rounds k can see a late Briggs stoppage more than a Morrison one.
Not a big fan of either fighter, but Briggs could take a shot! I don't see Shannon knocking him out, but a unanimous decision, sure.
Morrison has better resume. Morrison at least actually outboxed 44 y.o. Foreman while Briggs clearly lost to 48 y.o. George. Morrison also beat past prime Ruddock and Carl Williams, and holds few more decent wins. Briggs' best are KO behind the head over 45 y.o. Mercer (who tried to get DQ) and last-sec KO over Liakhovich. But the fight is winnable for Briggs if Morrison comes and trades punches, Briggs actually had better chin of the two and he's taller.
Morrison would box smart and take a UD or late stoppage after Briggs inevitably gasses Though if Morrison tries his game plan from the Mercer fight (charge in recklessly) he gets stopped in a fun firefight
If Morrison fought smart like he did against Foreman he’d decision Briggs or stop him late. I actually think it’s more likely to be a brawl that Briggs win, he had a better chin.
Thank you for bringing some sense and clarity to the thread. Morrison toyed with Foreman in 1993. Briggs got walked down and outpointed against a 48 year old Foreman with one foot in the grave. Despite Lewis taking 5 rounds to beat Briggs, I see Morrison blasting out Briggs in 3 rounds. I see Briggs winning only by a puncher's chance and catching Tommy winging them hooks. Like Bentt did. OK, maybe Tommy gets him out in 5 or 6 rounds. Side note: Briggs has THEE worst stamina I've ever seen in a heavyweight who looked like a world beater champion. And he barely threw anything!
