Looked beefy and toned in his amateur fights, like in the 180s 190s, for a kid that age... thats impressive
He is obviously carrying a lot of fat, but lets not exeggerate with 40 to 50 KG which is 110 pounds. He has a big ribcage, so he is mostly fat around the mid section... and that ain/'t 40 to 50 kg... just a big gut But legs normal, arms big, but can be trimmed... ribcage/chest is barrel size. Wide shoulders, big ass head
I don't know how low Ruiz can go. I don't know how much body fat he's carrying. It's a lot though. As in tens of pounds. I suspect something like 230lbs is doable for him. Getting below 200 ain't happening without an amputation.
It's plausible that he is really a cruiserweight. Let's not act like we haven't seen guys like Mike Perez (who was never near as fat) get in shape and go down to cruiser. Bet if someone had made this thread for him back then people would be saying the same things "he's too thick", "height is not the same as weight", etc. Ruiz has an enormous amount of excess fat and he's like 6'0 ( no chance he's 6'2). Mike Perez weighed his highest vs Zack Page at 247 1/2. He's weighed as low as 197 3/4 at Cruiser. 50 pounds and you saw how he looked at HW, much better than Ruiz.
Ruiz might look like Marciano if he dropped 85 pounds. He is definitely a HW but needs to work out his optimal weight for speed / stamina / power. Stamina seems to be an old school concept. The HWs look tired after a few rounds these days but if they could maintain a good output for 12 rounds they would be able to dominate by tiring out their opponents. This is the way Usyk will aim to defeat the huge HWs. AJ employed this tactic against Ruiz by doing the jab and run for 12 rounds.
Not a bad reference, but I still didn’t see Toney dropping Rahman or Peter multiple times on the way to stoppage wins
He wouldn't be able to do 1 fast paced round if his natural weight without the fat was 180-190. The reason he can go 12 hard fast rounds(Parker fight) is because hes near his natural fighting weight or he'd gas badly, no way is he carrying 80-90lbs unnatural weight. I agree he could lose a good bit, but around the mid 240's I reckon, hes just an unaesthetically bad looking guy naturally, but at the right weight can fight exceptionally well looking like that
Ruiz is a heavy weight. Height was never a factor in what weight class you fight. Bone structure and body mass is what determines your weight class. He has the weight, power, and chin of a heavy weight so that makes him a heavy weight. ****ing stupidity on here amazes me.
Ruiz with out body fat (well low body fat) would be Cruiser easily.. See he is so fat he looks far bigger boned than he is.. Everyone who is as overweight as him look big boned but when they do drop down you find out they're not as big bones as what you thought.. Years of food abuse has created him so it would really take years for him to get to his correct weight..
He's the 2019 version of 2-ton-Galenta. There's a binge-eating boxer in every era! and coming in at 5'9 244lbs..... This content is protected
