Canelo put on a decent scrap with a good fighter up at 175lbs that most people were interested in. He's to be commended for that.

At 5'8 and 70" he doesn't really have any business up at light-heavy. I've no problem with his stepping back down, seems reasonable to me.

Forget about 175, Golden Goose doesn’t even want to see Benavidez and Plant. I’m hoping he faces a motivated BJS, in the same form he showed against Lemieux, in which case I can see a cherry pick gone wrong, with BJS losing a very unpopular decision.

You have to ask yourself would Clenelo be making this move back down in weight if Beterbiev and Bivol were

    36 y/0 (an old 36) and 3-3 in their last 6 fights
Had been stopped in 2 of those losses by 2 relatively light punchers
Known heavy drinkers who have serious legal woes hanging over their heads
In Beterbiev's case, only having hurt and dropped one opponent in his last 5 fights due to his once fearsome power diminishing
And if they both had terrible stamina

Or would he be hanging around to unify the division against these lesser champions given how the fights would be extremely easy to make, both would've jumped at the opportunity to fight him, one of whom has already called him out, and how he's already sparked out the ''best 175 pounder'' in the world?

The question people should be asking are:

Where were both Beterbiev & Bivol hiding when Kovalev & Stevenson were the dominant champs leaving light heavyweight wreckage in their wakes?

Beterbiev and Bivol are both 34 and 29yrs old.
WTH have they been doing all this time instead of facing Kovalev and Stevenson while they were the dominant champs?
Mighty big rocks to be under all this time...

Yes, Canelo was scared and terrified of Trout, Lara, GGG, Jacobs and Kova, yet he fights them and all sort of excuses come flying by idiots like you, Canelo can clean out 175 and you will never give him credit.

What a worm, literally just looks for vulnerabilities in name fighters. Probably saw Callum Smith having trouble with a stumpy man and BJS looking bad and immediately wanted to head to 168 again . If Smith had destroyed Gorilla, Canelo would be bolting back to 160 instead. Then if Lemieux was on a KO streak, he'd be back at 154 trying to drag up Khan for a rematch on International Taco Day.

Y'all do realize the WBO doesn't allow fighters to hold belts in multiple division, why would you realistically drop 2 division titles to keep 1? Y'all quick to hop on Canelo nuts when he fighting and beating better fighters than pretty much everybody out there.

    The Canelo hate is absurd
I don’t see any other middleweights jumping to fight Beterbiev

Funny seeing the pathetic hate towards an obvious non light heavyweight deciding to not campaign at a weight he shouldn't be at in the first place. How bitter does someone have to be to actually get upset by this news lol.

Smith must be in with a shout. Saunders is all wrong for him style wise and wouldn't be horribly affected by a hydration clause so don't expect that to happen.
