He does, historians will see it as an extremely good win that he dominated Pacquiao to that fashion. 10-2. Pacquiao was never ever in that fight at any point.

    Pacquiao was injured:
    • Ellerbe even said during the lead up that he had information and heard that Pac was having a terrible camp
    • Pac had surgery after and sat out for a year (same guy that operated on Brady, Lomachenko, Kobe)
    Floyd was using PEDs:
    • Rejected VADA testing
    • Rejected the $5 million dollar dirty test penalty
    • Caught using illegal IV fluids
It's stunning to me that people literally forget the Pac was injured and Floyd was on PEDs. That or they hate the Pacman THAT much.

Did you forget that Pac was brutally KO'd in what was supposed to be the twilight of his career already?

It”s still a good win for floyd. Both of them are not prime so it even things out. Pacquiao will always have trouble with elite level boxers like floyd even if they fought in their prime.

That being said he would get alot more credit if he fought pacquiao 5 years earlier.

False pbf wanted a prime pac he even signed his contract it was pac who didn't want a prime pbf. He stopped the fight from happening because of testing those are facts. Pac pulled out of negotiations and fought clottey, a fight no one wanted, where as pbf was left holding the bag had to fight the much better fighter and p4p #3 in mosely.

Pbf beats any version of pac and is quite simply a stylistic nightmare for him. This so called prime pac couldn't even beat jmm clearly in 4 fights and like i have always said if you cant beat jmm clearly then you dont have a chance in hell of beating pbf and i was proven right.:deal:

pbf would always school pac because of his ability to control range and dictate distance on him, pac has no answer for it that was always the key to the fight and educated boxing fans like myself have known that for years anything else is just wishful thinking and hate:deal:

    I'd say:
    1. Because he didn't fight prime Pac. And everyone knows defensive style ages better so even though Mayweather was also old, his style was better suited.
    2. Pac was clearly injured and as the pressure fighter, combo puncher this is a huge issue. The RH of Pac was also a weapon, dropped Bradley with it etc.
    3. The IV issue.
    4. Mayweather sold the fight on the idea he was going for the kill/KO. Then boxed safety first, angering people who found the fight underwhelming.

I give him credit. He boxed well the fight was a massive let down tho. Am a Floyd fan but I do laugh when I see people saying it was a schooling. These same people was saying Pac didn’t have a defense An Floyd’s straight right would land all night. In that fight it was the least I have ever seen that shot been landed from Floyd. There wasn’t a lot in any of the rounds. Floyd scraped a lot of the rounds by just doing a little more than Pac.

Here's the better question, if you will rank the following wins over Manny, which one is the bottom one?
    Morales, Marquez IV, Mayweather.

Then ask yourself why Mayweather's win will consistently sit at the bottom of this ranking.
Pacquiao was waaaay past prime when he fought Maywether who was still really prime when they fought.

Then there are the other things too, the IV issue (which, again, for some reason is getting swept under the rug in these boards. if it was any fighter, he'd get crucified), the anti-inflammatory drug issue, and of course the size disparity issue (same reason we give Spence props for beating Mikey, but not HUGE props).

Does Floyd get zero credit? Of course he doesn't.
He gets credit for beating a still very good version of Pacquiao albeit all the issues above.
It's just not the best win over Pac by anyone, nor is it Mayweather's best win of his career.

    Size difference,
    both past prime,
    shoulder injury,
very boring and lackluster fight thanks to PBF....
Most people remember the fight as a boring contest between 2 old guys

The only reason Floyd wanted extra testing was that he got scared of Pac. He got nervous and scared of what Pac was doing.

Floyd never defeated Pacquiao impressively, he just pitty-patted and ran for the full 12 rounds.

Floyd would have been more popular if he'd have gone for the KO in the later rounds against his often smaller opponents, instead of just trying to run out the clock.

Like always its easy to discredit after a fight is over. Before the fight Pacquiao had looked better in his last two fights than Mayweather in his last two but now people say Mayweather waited for Pac to age. I think both fighters held up the fight to long and both were past lrime when it happened. It was a good win but probably not his greatest.

Because it was a shitty fight, boring, a stinker. Floyd was better on his feet then a track star, unbelievable cardio. Pac couldn't catch that shitt. I currently don't remember watching a replay of that fight because it was a dud. A boring contest. Noone really shined and the fight had remotely no good instances to rewatch. I don't even have memories of that fight just plain dull, ordinary, bs.
